Shanghai's hotel usually costs a lot given the location is downtown. This one cannot be described as cheap but I think it's a bargain for its location. It's in Jin'An district which has some of the most pricey apartments in this cosmopolitan. There is a convenient store on the other side of the street. 10-minute walk to the nearest subway... More

I stayed here for five nights. My room was small but clean and the staff did a good job cleaning it when I asked them to. Wifi is acceptably fast and the breakfast is decent. The hotel is a nice neighborhood with shopping, subway stations, and restaurants nearby. A good value for the money.

Stayed here one night, the rooms are small, but ours was clean, shower was fine and bed was comfortable. The air conditioning in the room was very efficient and kept us cool all night and we had a good night's sleep. We had one of the internal rooms with just a small window onto nothing. There are plenty of places... More

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. My room was tiny and there's only a small window. No bathtub but shower was powerful enough for me. Breakfast... hmmm... don't expect anything great... not bad service but people working there cannot really understand English. At least good location, so if you just need a place to sleep, this could... More

Although there are better Jinjiangs across China, for Shanghai, and specifically for the unbeatable Jing'an district this hotel is very nice and good value. Rooms are a bit small but clean and bathrooms are good. Unfortunately no closet to put clothes in, which can be a bit of a hassle when staying for more than one night. Service was very... More

The hotel was clean and the staff helpful even though the level of English was really low. I had to talk to the agency I had booked with online over the phone to solve the payment but either than that I did not have problems. Just like many other hotels in Shanghai and China in general be prepared to ask... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
