4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2012

This place was exactly what I was looking for in Shanghai, moderately close to the metro, quiet and had cheap rates. The room was very clean and was refreshed by the staff each day. Not a great view as my room was on the back of the building, but the room was spacious enough for just me. Most of the... More

1. The hotel has excellent location being extremely close to the Shanghai Railway Station (1km) and the Hanzhong Road Metro Station (0.5km). 2. Rates are quite cheap ranging from a rack rate of RMB 188 to RMB 400. 3. Rooms are basic but extremely clean. 4. Staff is polite but do not know much engllish. 5. Area around the hotel... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
