Close to the shopping area with fantastic service and restaurant. Very stylish hotel that I would reccomend to a couple or small group of friends. All staff were more than happy to help us with all of our needs and the lobby is always stocked with cold water and coffee :)

close to shopping area, close to The Bund, all at walking distance. Hotel restaurant has terrace, with great sky line view. Rooms modern, good Internet, reception friendly and this all for reasonable price. As it is smaller hotel it is more personal, and feels more friendly. I also can recommend this hotel for tourists. Over the last 4 year I... More

Great room, breakfast was incredible. Internet was extremely reliable and quite fast. The location isn't overly convenient if you're wanting to be in city centre all day but the metro station is walking distance and from there you can get anywhere. It's a nice neighborhood too.

The location is far north to the center. Nothing interesting around. except a small night food market on Quyang road in front of the McDonald. 15 minutes from the hotel. The rooms are very modern even if the assembly of the taps is lousy. There was a problem with the draining of the shower. There was no change service at... More

Staying in Hongkou

Neighborhood Profile
Hongkou
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.
