Booked this hotel for the Shanghai F1 weekend as it was convenient for the subway and the HongMei bar street. Check in was OK until I stated i was paying cash and was asked for a significant deposit for the mini bar. However when I got to the room there was no minibar. Room was a good size and the... More

We stayed in Kingtown for 3 nights only. Room was great with a big big bed :) ! Cleanness so so in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but you must ask when something is missing (bread, yogurt...!!) The hotel is a little bit far away from subway ( 15 minutes ). Reception was nice, but it could be better if... More

Having only stayed at this hotel for one night I can only comment on a few aspects of the hotel as I literally only used the hotel as a place to sleep. I selected this hotel due to its proximity to Hongqiao airport as I had an early morning flight. The hotel is a bit further from subway line 10... More

I have spend the last weekend in this hotel, which was the first time for me there. Usually I book in Cypress Garden, but the weather cast was threatening my walking habits. In short, it's much closer to a friend who lives there. I was happy to find a nice business suite for a very reasonable price, but as I... More

Nice stay, clean and comfortable and friendly staff. Subway 15 mins walk away, though probably a bit suss at night. The area outside has quite a local feel to it! Train from Shanghai Honquiou Railway station (next to the airport) is just a few minutes by taxi (14 yuan) to the Longxi rd station.

A 4 star property, has very good western restaurants for breakfasts and good room service too. Great steak. Located about 20 mins from Hongqiao's airport and railway station. Staff speaks English. NO business center. Train ticket booking house is a stone's throw where you can walk down and get tickets. Very good shopping area. Shanghai silk city or Friendship store... More

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
