We stayed here for five nights on level 15 in a Bund Deluxe room. The rooms are large and spacious with fantastic views of the Haungpu river and the Oriental Pearl. It was lovely to walk across the road to the Bund early in the morning and watch the locals jogging, playing tennis, flying kites, etc. The rooms have very... More

Came here with my family and we had the river view suite. The room was very nice, great view, very clean. I especially enjoyed the sitting area just to enjoy the great view we had that looked right at the Pudong side of the bund. Also really enjoyed the washroom which had a nice tub, standing shower and all the... More

We stayed four days, our room was on level 19 with a great view of the Bund. We really enjoyed our stay, the room was outstanding, it had all the features you will ever see in a hotel, a big room, with a very nice, spacious bathroom. The hotel felt like a calming oasis in a very busy noisy city.... More

The rooms in this hotel and extraordinarily modern especially the bathroom. The hotel is a fine example of modern design and comfort. The breakfast was decent, not extraordinary but nothing bad there. Being a vegetarian I had a tough time though and unfortunately a staff member incorrectly told me an item was vegetarian when it had pork. I also felt... More

Across the two weeks my husband and I spent in China, we stayed at Les Suites Orient 3 times- each visit for 2 nights- totaling 6 nights in 3 rooms. This hotel became our "home base," and what a lucky find! Location is excellent, decor is beautiful, and the staff is top-notch. This hotel has it figured out for the... More

The hotel located at the bund. The view from the room looking at huang pu river was amazing especially at night with beautiful lights. Service was excellent. Few restaurants and bars nearby the hotel. It's quite convenient.

This hotel was above and beyond our expectations for a four star hotel. Everything was at your fingertips, completely technological with remote operation of everything including lighting, blinds, music. The view of the Huang Pu River right outside was spectacular, especially amongst the beautiful city lights at night. The location was perfect for us - right on the Bund so... More

The hotel is situated at the Bund. Quiet and convenient. When booking, request for room with river view, you can feel the energy of Shanghai even if you do not step out of it. Concierge service is excellent, especially Mr Nicolas Yang which has put up all efforts to help me get a lovely CD which they are playing throughout... More

I stayed there for 2 nights on business in June 2015. The experience was great. The location is nice if you like to go out by the Bund for dinner and/or drinks. Otherwise it's not close to any shopping or sightseeing area at all. Overall it's a good value since I got a good deal on Hotel.com.

Have travelled to many cities but this hotel is amazing!! Very reasonable price for a superb stay in Shanghai. Right on the bund - fantastic for couples! Very reasonably priced for the amazing location. Close to great shopping, restaurants, bars, clubs and sight seeing! The best part was the amazing bath in my room that overlooked the bund! Also the... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
