I woke up in the morning when there was a loud advertisement on the street around 7:30am. The sound insulation was not strong enough to fight the noise. The bell captain was very kind in checking my luggage after checking out and hailing a taxi to Pudong airport.

This is a really nice hotel with spacious rooms, great service and good food. The staff is really great and very accommodating. The executive lounge is comfortable and nice to relax in at the end of a day. Walking distance to many great places to eat and drink.

I've been to Shanghai many times and always wanted to try this hotel but the rates were a bit too high. This time I got a great rates and stayed 5 nights here. I was not disappointed. The check-in agent was able to match the reservation to my Marriott reward number. After a bit of checking, she was also able... More

The hotel is hidden inside a small street outside Hongqiao Road. The metro station is just across the road and above the metro station there are a few huge shopping malls with many nice restaurants. The room is not big, but pretty efficient. In general the room has everything you need, iron board, iron, umbrella, safe plus all the basic... More

Excellent hotel and service. Room was good enough and excellent maintenance. Location was rather not convenient to reach. Breakfast was good but not excellent. Korean street is located at 15 min away by taxi. Longyang station for Maglev train is 25 min away by taxi.

Have used this hotel at least 15 times in the last few years & is always a very comfortable stay. The rooms are comfortable, e gym is good & also has a pool & sauna. The breakfast has plenty of options of local & western options. Only downside I had once was when raining that locals got taxi priority, but... More

Familiar with other courtyard Marriott, feel comfortable with the bed and other facilities. Location is good, 30 mins away from HongQiao airport, also next to hotel there is a big mall, you can do all shopping and find a lot of nice restaurants with many cuisine choices.

We booked a weekend stay at the courtyard by Marriott. The hotel is really conveniently placed with a five minute walk to the metro and line 1. This was handy as it took us to all the sights within a few stops. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. They spoke English really well. Our room was clean and... More

Optimal choice for business traveling, with all needed features (nice gym, 24h reception, good restaurant, laundry service etc), and the plus of a metro station (line1) at walking distance. Price is quite high, but business worth.

I stayed at the Courtyard Xujiahui two weeks ago for 3 nights being on a short trip to Shanghai. As I stayed at Courtyard Puxi before (next to the train station in Zhabei) I wanted to try this hotel. Compared to the Courtyard Puxi, the rooms at Xujiahui are smaller and look older. The windows are very small and make... More

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
