This hotel was one of the best I´ve ever stayed at. The room was very spacious, more like a small studio than a room. With complimentary minibar, fruit delivered every day, and Nespresso coffee complimentary. It has awesome views, everything is modern and super nice. Our room had a small living room and an amazing bathtub. Great experience!!!!

This was our third stay at the PuLi. Whilst there is no shortage of quality hotel options around this price range in Shanghai, the PuLi remains one of our favourite places to stay in Shanghai because it is in a great location and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The PuLi is located close to the Jingan shopping area and... More

This review comes after a few years of doing business in China and having the opportunity to stay at many 5 star hotels both in Shanghai and elsewhere in China. This property absolutely is a must for anyone wanting to escape the chaos of Shanghai but still wants to be in the center of the hustle and bustle of the... More

My home away when in Shanghai. Great rooms with killer views of Shanghai. Talking a bath with a Blade Runner atmosphere outside. Very well located. A host of restaurants and bars in the area. Cool architecture as well.

This hurts to write, as some of the people are phenomenally nice (Elgar Fu is extremely helpful!), but some of their tactics are really shameful. I'll just state facts: --I received a free bottle of red wine with my room. I did the natural thing and pour myself a glass to put at the little table by my bed. The... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The first 2 times I booked a standard room, and upon check-in I was upgraded to a suite. LOCATION Very good location, by Jing-An temple, central Shanghai, close to metro and designer and high-street shops. Lots of options for fine dining and more local dining. ARRIVAL Very low-key entrance, modern, minimalist. Several... More

I've been in this hotel probably 5 times during the past 3 years. The architecture/design/style is unique, reminds me partly to beach resorts in Thailand, which I know. That is completely unique considering that this is a city-hotel in the middle of a Megacity. So the name "Urban Resort" is really meeting what you will experience there. Rooms and service... More

Puli has become my number one choice in Shanghai. The experience makes you embrace reclusion literally in the city centre. Conveniently located yet hidden from all the skyscrapers and shopping malls. You feel like in Bali or something the moment in step into the lobby. The room is decent sized, with pleasant view over the Jing'an park. That tranquil feelings... More

Had a one night stopover in Shanghai and decided to splurge on a decent hotel. Had heard nice things about the Puli and was able to secure a great rate on an upgraded room on the 23rd floor. Hotel has a great ambience, stylish and an oasis in a busy city. The room was excellent, large open plan format with... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
