We booked ourselves at the Starway after reading it's reviews and primarily because it was great value for money to be so near the Bund, Shanghai's tourist hub and, sometimes trap. It's an oldish building hidden behind other buildings and quite a challenge to find. There is no bell service and you'll have to cart your luggage through the lobby... More

The room I got is rather small. I book for a room window window, but to my horror the window looks out to no where! The staffs at the front desk is quite helpful. They also help you to organize a tour to the city or nearby cities if you need.

Good and friendly staffs. Good for value as facility is good and clean. There is Free internet with cable provided in the room and breakfast is included. It is not perfect but I find this hotel the best if you are a traveller with medium range budget. Rooms without window are over utilized, a little run down and small. There... More

The hotel looks very nice on the website, but it looks quite different, when you see it in reality - the different is quite stunning. We were in a room that had no window which gave quite a claustrophobic feeling. On the third morning (we had booked nine nights) a staff member came and told us we had to pay... More

My friend and I just came back from a trip to Beijing and Shanghai. We originally were booked for the Gaun Dong Hotel in Shanghai that someone we know in China suggested however, the services at that hotel were horrible so we decided to take our chances and look for another hotel to stay at for the remainder of our... Hotel H is a cool, creative boutique hotel that's got a great decor and pretty good service. It's location isn't great, about a 10 minute walk to the metro, but it's easy to get to. Very affordable.

I got this hotel for about 30USD a night and was very happy. granted, we were only in the room for sleep but it was a comfortable stay overall. cozy feel, nice decor. felt safe and clean. walls were a bit thin but it wasnt really a big concern, it's not like you can hear full conversations, just coughs or...
