The hotel lobby is impressive if a bit empty!! The corner room I got was impressive. I asked to change to a non-smoking room but I had no choice. The hotel staff promised to move me the next day but it did not happen. The room air-conditioning had no temp control and the room was bit cold. The shower did... More

The hardware of the hotel is pretty good. Great rooms with TV in the bathroom as well as a window which can be adjusted from see through to dark. Beds are very comfortable but unfortunately no VOD system. The elevators are also quite impressive and the smell inside the building is very pleasant. The lobby is huge but looks a... More

It was my business trip to Shanghai for one week in August '13. The first thing you notice as you enter the hotel is its entrance lobby, it is is really grand. The chandelier and the paintings adds to the grandeur. And the rooms are very spacious and the view from top floor is excellent. I specifically asked for higher... More

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. Unless you're traveling China the backpack/hostel way, a 5 star hotel is a pretty wonderful way to go. The beds and linens were from Heaven!! For a nominal extra charge, you can upgrade to the Executive floor when you get there. Inquire when you check in if they don't offer it right... More

Extremely nice executive hotel. Located approximately 4 miles East of central Shanghai. My very large QUIET room (suite) was eloquently decorated with a view of the Huangpu River. The suite has an executive work area (desk), large living room, large bedroom, small hallway, two bathrooms (one large and one smaller), small foyer area. All areas are well appointed. Restaurant food... More

Here's a tip for group tour members marooned in this elegant but depressingly out-of-the way hotel: Take a few minutes before the bus or van leaves in the morning and see working-class Shanghai. Go out the front entrance and take three left turns. You will now be off the tourist track into a lively older neighborhood of hutong-style homes, stores... More

An elegant hotel with spacious beautiful rooms. The bathroom is large; you can even watch TV while having a bath and the separate shower is spacious and works well. Room size is very spacious and the breakfast has a good variety. Location is away from downtown but when travelling in a group you don't have much free time to wander... More
