I should really keep this hotel a a secret, but they offer excellent rooms, nice service at a good price. The location may not be the best, but there is everything within walking distance. Staff is very friendly and rooms are nice and clean.

4 star standard. Quiet room and comfortable bed. Really the place to stay for business in the West side of Shanghai. Plenty small restaurants around at 30/50 RMB but also more high end ones. Staff at the Babylon cafe very friendly. 30 minutes by metro to the Bund.

Decent business hotel. Got upgraded to a suite since they ran out of single rooms. Wasn't gonna complaint. Suite is nice, spacious, beds are comfortable. Though no wireless in the room, the cable internet connection was sufficient. Generally surrounding area was bare / basic as not a tourist location. Babylon Cafe for breakfast had a nice spread, Chaopinji Chinese restaurant... More

This is a real gem! The San Want is a Taiwanese owned hotel in the business district of Shanghai. The rooms are great with perhaps THE most comfortable beds i have ever slept on!! The breakfast buffet although catering primarily for Asian travellers, still has plenty to suit the usual Western breakfast taste. Staff very helpful and the ambience of... More

I stayed here earlier this month since our office was down the road. I wouldn't stay here if it was on my own dime. Terrible service. Very unfriendly reception n concierge staff. Not a good place to stay if u want to start ur day on a cheerfull note. Other than that it is an ok hotel. See my ratings... More

I have stayed at the San Want Hotel on business trips to Shanghai on numerous occasions over the past 2 years. Most of those stays have been for periods ranging from 2 weeks to 3 1/2 weeks. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable, the staff is very helpful, and the hotel is very well maintained. The restaurant... More

This is a very nice hotel. You have a very good western breakfast and local breakfast. But mainly guests are oriental people and the staff try to be lovely by the way they dont speak english, what sometimes can difficult the comunication. The location is far from the tourist Shanghai (pay attention about because Shanghai has a terrible trafic jam)... More

If your primary interest is seeing the sights of Shaghai, this probably isn't the hotel for you. It's far from the sights and not on the subway lines. However, if you want a very nice, comfortable, and clean hotel in a very busy city, San Want is fine. The hotel is in a residential area and is by far the... More

Stayed in Deluxe Suite. Rooms are nice with very comfy bed, complimentary snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and broadband. No shops around the hotel but it is just under a minute walk from metro station but as metro closes rather early, a taxi will be required after a night out. Service from staff is OK with a lack of friendliness. The hotel... More

Nice hotel, clean very well located, bellongs to a Taiwanese chain of candy factory ( this is the reason of the cartoon of a boy everywhere). Best breakfast, great room.
