The New Westlake Hotel was a very disappointing choice. This so called "boutique hotel" is well located, close to subway station and in the charming French quarter. The hotel has definitely potential but it is poorly managed by staff who do not speak English and have no client orientation whatsoever. The room was clean and large since was laid out... More

We had a room on the second floor (3rd floor for french people). The room was actually a small apartment: two floors, each with a bedroom and a bathroom, and a living room on the first floor that was large enough to accommodate a third bed. The breakfast was simple but satisfying, you have to fill in a paper with... More

We had an upgrade room - but we ended up in a refurbished attic in a side building. Climbing up 38 stairs. For carrying the luggage we had help from the hotel service. The room was rather big and clean. For breakfast you have to give your orders - a poor selection - a day before. In general - terrible.... More

I stayed here 2 years ago, and this is the second time I stayed in the hotel. The hotel gives you a very Shanghai feel, the hotel building, the interior plays a very important part. Though the first time you might miss the junction to turn in, the second time, you will appreciate it. The hotel is hidden inside a... More

This hotel is very well located and very quiet. We slept first floor and it was clean and no particular issues. The staff is not very helpful and limited, the english level is not good at all. Wifi provided for free, ask the code at main reception.

This hotel is certainly comfortable and in a good location. It is very easy to reach by Metro and is a 2 minute walk from the nearest station at South Shaanxi Road. The location in the old French concession area is appealing with tree lined streets and one can easily get to places like Peoples Square or Nanjing Rd very... More

The facility and cleanliness were excellent. Traditional or western breakfasts were included in the room fee. Our only disappointment was that no one seemed to know about local restaurants and attractions or even that a tour office was one block down the street. We had to find our way through a maze on our own. Fortunately, we had a laptop... More

I have stayed here three times in the past 6 months, twice alone and once with several collegaues. This hotel is a great price point in a great part of the city. It is very close to the intersection of Huaihai Rd and Maoming Rd. A little hard to find, since it is tucked at the back of a side... More

This boutique hotel is hidden in an alley of the South Maoming Road in the French Concession area. At first, I thought the taxi driver dropped us at a wrong spot. I just couldn't believe there would be a decent hotel in that alley. But, just 5 steps further and there was this little gem. The room was very spacious... More

I thought this was much better than one of the best hotel that i stayed in the golden triangle on the same trip if you really want a local shanghai feel. This hotel is strategically located in French Consession and it was newly opened when i stayed there last year. Most taxis were not aware of this hotel and the... More
