The cheapest hotel we've ever booked in Shanghai. The reception etc are pretty rundown but the room was great. Staff were great. We had the suite, it was huge and has everything. Clean, pretty modern, English language TV, decent internet. Really good location by Tacang Lu and shortish walk to the French Concession. Insanely cheap, like US$38 a night.

After spending 9 nights in this hotel I've been wondering if there are any quality controls or inspections as there was no clear evidence of the four star standards that the hotel claims to have. Tatty sofas in reception hall and tons of dirt behind reception desk didn't make a good first impression. No wifi... The bed was comfy, sheets... More

I was booked at this hotel by a tour company. If I had a choice I would not have selected it. We stayed there four nights and the only good things I can say about it is that the water pressure and amount of hot water were excellent. The room was not clean and the bathroom floor looked like it... More

Pros: 1) Overall good and clean 2) Easy to find and close to a subway Cons: 1) You have to pay for the wifi... 2) Staff not really nice, although they do understand English. 3) Unpleasant check-in and check-out. Conclusion : If someone would ask, I would recommand anyone with low budget for a quick stay.

I lived at Rayfont for almost five months so I consider myself as a trustworthy source. Where shall I begin?… Belive me when I say you this. Every time I had something to do with Rayfont it always was something wrong. If there where any problems I had to call the reception 7 times. Even tough i called 7 times... More

Every year once a year I stay in Shanghai Rayfront , Zhaojiabang road side , not Xietu Rd side. It is the best price and close to everything you would need . Make sure you have a friend who knows some Shanghainess language . Nice gardens and good service , if you are Chinese you will get more service .... More

for sure this is not a 4 star hotel, no restaurants, no wifi, stuff is not very helpful, hotel and room are not very clean, balcony has no furniture to sit outside, taxi to city center is cheap, neighborhood has small Chinese restaurants (duck for 4US$), the hotel needs an update and a big cleaning to make it nice again,... I spent three months at the rayfont hotel , to be honest the rooms were spacious and generally clean they were air conditioned which is a life saver in the warmer months . Many of my colleagues complained about cockroach infestations in their rooms but i never found any personally . in terms of service repairs were done fairly quickly... More

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. None of the rooms are cleaned (They make the bed, maybe) but the rooms are filthy. The water pressure is off, there were cockroaches in the room, and garbage and dirt on the floor. There is no wifi and overall this place is shady. Avoid and go somewhere better.

Pros: Massive apartment Very clean apartment Very reasonably priced The kitchen has a hob Cons We got a deluxe business suite with a kitchen. BE WARNED: the kitchen has NO appliances expect a kettle (ie no oven, microwave, dishwasher etc) It also has no cutlery, plates, glasses, cups, pots, pans etc. You cannot use the kitchen unless you buy all...
