This is a nice hotel which is very close to the Metro. Stayed there few days earlier before my China tour begins. The Front Desk and the Concierge were very nice and helpful to show us how to get around in Shanghai, the room was very nice but they didn't have the A/C turned on while we were there two... More

The hotel is 30 min walking to Nanjjing st. There are no mall or restaurants close to lunch or dinner. We visited Shanghai dec.22 , low season. We stayed at the hotel for dinner the first night. The dinning room was empty. The mushroom soup was like dirty water. The staff was not as friendly as in Beijing or Xian and... More

Its a nice hotel in a pleasant quiet Location but this quietness cause some problem like not finding a super market or fast food around. You have to walk 10min or more to find one! The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are ok. The bathroom and amenities of the rooms are complete. The lobby and front desk is... More

The hotel is not bad. It is a little bit aging, but the cleanliness is acceptable. Although it is a matter of personal preferences, I find the style very old with dark furniture and tacky decoration. I prefer modern hotels. There is no wi-fi in the room. There is only a LAN cable and cost 100 CNY per day. I... More

We stayed in the Mingde (previously the Lexington Plaza) in July 2012. Plusses are that the location is good, it's not that far from the Bund & the taxi fares to the Bund are cheap. But a word of advice, there isnt a huge amount of English spoken in Shanghai so get the name and address of the hotel translated... More

We stayed in this hotel with a 10-day tour group. It was our last stop. The room was nicely decorated, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed and quality furniture. But the heat is still not on in late November and the bathroom was freezing. The breakfast buffet was the worst of all the hotels we have stayed during the trip. I guess their... More

My stay at the Mingde Grand Hotel had mixed feelings, there is no doubt that this hotel is grand in that it is beautifully set out both in facilities a location. The rooms are well presented and believe it or not the beds are quite comfortable unlike most beds in China. The location is great if you like mixing it... More

Our experience at the Mingde hotel was certainly not memorable. The hotel looked grand, but on closer inspection, we found a lot of wear and tear for a hotel that was only 1 year old. Front desk staff were a bit officious. Out of 3 very small elevators to service such a large hotel and 2 bus loads of guests... More

We stayed at the Mingde Grand as part of a packaged trip to China and found the hotel to be comfortable. Its breakfast buffet was great and the rooms spacious and comfortable. Our room was a bit cold and the water warm , not hot at times but these things were easily adjusted. I would definitely recommend this hotel as... More
