Stayed there for four days. The hotel is a budget hotel, not very luxurious, but suitable for budget travelers. The room was clean and well furnished. The hotel has a great location, in a quiet area. It is a walking distance from Nanjing road and People Square. The staff were good in English, and were really friendly and helpful, specially... More

Just blocks away from where all the shopping is in Shanghai, the famous Nanjing Road... Quite an old hotel, but not bad either. Serves typical chinese breakfast with the same menu everyday. Good thing Baguette Paris is just at the hotel lobby and some resto are nearby.

Metropolis hotel at Shanghai is located very near Nanjing Lu "walking street" i.e. a street where a person can relax at various eating outlets, European restaurants, shop if interested. And easy connectivity through People Square metro station. Good for business men who have nothing to do in the evenings, and easy on the purse.

It's a hotel for those who just need a sleep over, no so much comfortable, particularly the window view, but still i recommend it for a it's location, close to the from Bund and Central Park subway station, Theater, Shanghai Museum (5minutes wlk) which is very convinient! A lot of restaurants and shops nearby, you can easally get to an... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
