The room is just large enough, the beds are good (soft), the breakfast is 'ok', although the coffee is really really bad. For a good cup of coffee, go to the Kinloch cafe in the lobby room: there the coffee is excellent. The bathroom was really dirty, there were long black hairs of the previous guest(s) in the bathroom ánd... More

This hotel is near the Dapuqiao subway station, which is the only real positive that can be drawn from our stay here - that is to say that its close to all the main sightseeing areas. Now here is where this hotel really disgusted and infuriated us: Night 1: we arrive exhausted, carrying heavy backpacks and sweating in 40 degree... More

The hotel did its job. It was clean and the room was big enough for me. Although it wasn't too far from the Bund, there was nothing that interesting within a two-mile radius of the hotel. The taxi driver had a hard time finding it at first which didn't help but the hotel fulfilled its purpose.

The room I stayed in was cramp and tight. The bathroom was tight and had minimal privacy with a translucent shield, the standing shower stall had a flimsy shower curtain. I wondered if instead of a balcony which I could not use due to the bad air quality in Shanghai, the space was made to make the room more spacious,... More

Having just flown in from Sydney, I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as it was in the perfect location for my meeting next morning. The nightmare started at checkin with the reception staff being rude and not interested in any requests such as a non smoking room. The concierge would not leave there counter to assist with... I had a long term rental for a year. Over-priced. Filthy. The cleaning staff were pleasant but couldn't or wouldn't clean properly - I would give them gifts every month or so and they were very nice, but it didn't improve things. Mind you, their basic equipment (vacuum cleaner, for example) was so old and decrepit it's not surprising. Noise... More

I have to agree with some of the previous reviews and while I too rarely write bad reviews it is definitely warranted on this occasion. We paid $100NZ per night for a 'deluxe' suite in June and while it was spacious it was the first hotel room I have ever been in that I had to clean before putting anything... More

I don't usually waste time writing nasty reviews, but feel its necessary in this case. In this instance I was traveling with some students on an extended stay so we found a conveniently located, inexpensive hotel in Shanghai. The front desk, even if you speak Chinese, actively try to screw you. When I first arrived I asked for an upgrade... More

The staff was generally rude and barely spoke english. They did not know how to behave in the hospitality business. Male staff made an effort while female staff seemed jaded and even angry at times! The female manager, however, once called upon was nice and spoke basic english. We wont be staying again even though the room was clean and... More

It was a little difficult and frustrating to find the room in the first place as there are 4 different sections to 2 buildings, and each section goes to a different set of numbers (our was 1036, so Tower C which goes from rooms 33-39). Next, we had a business suite, so it had a separate kitchen, bedroom, living room,... More
