I went to Fiji for 2 weeks and stayed here for my last 5 nights... To be honest I wish I'd gone straight to maqai, I could have easily spent the entire time on this beautiful piece of paradise. The resort is amazing, the food is mouth watering and always plentiful, the staff are the friendliest people I have ever... More

We originally booked for 7 nights but extended to 9 nights because we were having such a great time. Transferring the extra nights from Tuvununu Lodge was easy being sister resorts. Cathy and all the staff were wonderful, Big Tony, Rosie, Charlie, Sala, Par, Balei, Matau and Tex just to name a few went out of there way to welcome... More

I was lucky enough to spend almost a month up at Maqai during December, 2012. This place is beautiful, a real alternative to the trodden track in Fiji - you'll find the "real" fijians up here, whether it be working at Maqai itself, or the happy kids and families in the surrounding villages. At Maqai itself the days fly by,... More

We only spent one night at Maqai, but it was the perfect end to our 3 weeks in Fiji! I really liked our tent (with flush toilet and shower), its position 25 feet from the beautiful calm cove and lapping waves. Simon rocks with his music (and spear fishing) and Tony rocks with his Kava!!! Oh yea and Rosie rocks... More

This is paradise! If you are going to Fiji and just have time to visit one place, you should go here! Pay a bit more to stay in the bungalows on the beach, it is well worth the extra costs, the dorm is a bit crowded and there is a lot of mosquitos. So stay on the beach instead, much... More

Bula!!! We stayed in Maqai in November 2012. We were due to stay for 1 or 2 nights and ended up staying for 4. We would have stayed longer if our flight home wasn't calling!!! All the staff are really friendly and welcoming and you soon become part of the family. The food (Thank you Rosie) is absolutely delicious! You... More

Bula to everyone at Maqai Beach! It has been a little while since we visited Maqai (October 2012) and I am sorry for not writing a review sooner, but I wanted to write it from the heart. Maqai is a place like no other, from the moment you step off the boat and place your toes on to the beautiful... More

Bula vinaka and thank you for the heart warming review. The Maqai team is really happy to read your description and send their big congratulations for the engagement and the Maqai baby! Our transfer team also offer a big apology for the issues mentioned. In the rare case of rough weather and/or super-low tides, we cannot send our transfer boat... More

We originally reserved to rent Nanuku Island (managed by Maqai) for a month long honeymoon but ended up spending close to a week at Maqai do a cyclone the prohibited us from traveling.
