I've just returned home from a week on this beautiful island with my husband. An excellent place to unwind and forget the fast pace of life. Unfortunately the weather was rough. Strong winds and rain dominated our stay so we didn't get to fully enjoy the amenities. The plunge pool would have been delightful it if was warmer and sunnier... More

I travelled to Fiji for 7 days with my partner. The staff are amazing from Caroline in the front office to Seko who runs all the activities and the staff in the restaurant. Each day the menu changed to allow you to sample more of the local produce, but also cater for the western style cooking. The snorkelling around the... More

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Matamanoa Island. The Villas are lovely with their plunge pool and outdoor showers and daybeds. However if you are thinking of a resort room don't do it, Spend the extra money and stay in a beachfront bure or a villa. Otherwise you won't feel special you will feel like... More

I am amazed how a resort can be so bad when neighboring resorts are like heaven on earth. As soon as we arrived we sat by the bar for a welcome drink, fill in some forms and get our room keys. We paid for a beechfront bure and what we got is the staff penthouse. Not even the staff there... More

Bula dear guest, Matamanoa Management and Staff are sad to hear that you did not enjoy your stay on our Island. Upon investigation, there was a glitch with your reservation, and perhaps due to language barriers, reception were unable to convey clearly to you their apology and disappointment. I am sure you enjoyed your stay in the Executive 2 bedroom... More

Usually opting to stay with a certain chain of resorts/hotels, a friend of mine talked me into trying this resort. I would not normally stray far from my beloved second home, nor try another brand altogether, but I think the trip was worth it. There are always downsides, though. LOCATION: Exclusivity with me is a big plus. The fact that... More

Bula and vinaka for a very detailed post. In reference to your comment on sound proofing, stand alone villas and bures to my knowledge are not sound proof anywhere in the South Pacific Islands. Matamanoa is a very small Island and whilst the beach is spectacular, it is on accessible to all guests on the Island, Matamanoa does not allow... More

Matamanoa is a great place to stay I would highly recommend it. If you are after 5 star I wouldn't say it was that but well worth the visit, we stayed for a week which was great, plenty to do if you like or nothing if you prefer. We stayed in villa 14 which was right at the other end... More

Stunning from the moment we arrived. The island is surrounded by reef with gorgeous corals, hundreds of fish varieties, turtles and reef sharks - makes you long to get out there every day. The resort is well laid out with gorgeous rooms, restaurant and pool deck etc. The villa rooms are beautiful, with private plunge pool and day bed and... More

The resort met most of our expectations. We stayed for 7 nights and had the most wonderfully relaxing time. We stayed in a beach front Bure which had recently been refurbished, beautiful. The resort is well kept, clean and tidy, the team are fantastic. Regrettably the restaurant did not live up to the rest of the resort. Service was slow... More

Stayed 6 fantastic days on this wonderful island. We celebrated 35-year anniversary and had asked for a nice bure and we got what we thought it's finest. We stayed in bure 19 and it was really nice. It was on the sunset side and had a very nice patio with furniture, a daybed and a plunge pool. The lovely beach... More

Check out the photos and what you see is what you get, amazing! Friendly, quiet, picturesque, indulgent and FUN! The only two things I felt could be improved were the continental breakfast needed more variety ie yoghurt, juice variations and the "day room " available for use after room check out was in very poor condition ie broken shower, only...
