We travelled to Plantation Island for our wedding after the recommendation of my sister. She was right on the mark, we loved it!! The staff were very friendly. The location is sensational. We loved the beach and its non existent waves, making it perfect for children. Our wedding went off without a hitch and everything was perfect. Our theme was... more

My family has been going to Plantation since 1972 and we cant get enough of it. We have introduced over 70 friends and family to the place since we have been going. The people there are family to us and the resort itself is beautiful. Everyone one that we have taken there has felt welcome straight away and are blown... more

Just had our 5th trip to Fiji, 3rd to Plantation. If you're looking for 5-star resort, go else where (we've been to Castaway and it's more suitable to this style). If you're looking for nightlife, avoid Fiji altogether. If you're lookign for fine cuizine, Plantation is not the place to go to. ...now for the brilliant bits... Beach is one... more

Planation Island with it's fishing, snorkling, gardens and bures is a joy to experience. It's a lovely place and great for a week away from a NZ winter. The big spoiler with Plantation though is the food. The restaurant and kitchen are a complete and unmitigated disaster. Yes the food arrives late and cold and over priced. ( The price... more

Recently spent 5 nights at Plantation Island Resort, the good the bad and the down right nasty. Purchased 2 meal vouchers for the young guys in our party. Overall the breakfast and dinner package was ideal. Now for the important bit. We are not fussy eaters, but when food arrives on one's table almost stone cold, waterlogged rice, over cooked... more

We have just return from 10 wonderful nights on Plantation Island ( 2 adults and 4 children 12,9,7,7). After reading some of the reviews we were a little worried about our chioce of Island, however I would have to say we could not fault the property, staff or food. We stayed in a Two Bedroom Bure which had lots of... more

We had been to Plantation Island Resort about 2 &1/2 years ago & loved it so much we always planned to return sometime. We spent a week there recently. We loved it again. It wasn't very full (I think occupancy was about 30%) which certainly suited us. It is a 3 & 1/2 star resort, so is not overly fancy,... more

My family and I have just returned from another wonderful holiday at Plantation Island resort. The beach at Plantation is brilliant. We spent most of our days by the beach and participating in various activities. Staff are very friendly and fantastic with children, the food was great and the coco hut makes delicious milkshakes and coffees. The rooms are clean... more

‘Once in a lifetime a man finds his island’. This quote, emblazoned on the brochures and condiment packets as you scout around your bure is supposed to make you feel welcome and in some way unique. A feeling that you’re someone special and the rest of the world no longer matters. Twenty eight years ago this actually meant something to... more

It saddens us that this guest did not enjoy their last visit with us, as we value our returnee guests and always endeavor to ensure that they continue to enjoy their Plantation Island Resort experience. I was compelled to address some of the issues outlined in this review as I feel that there are some inaccuracies presented in the review...

I went to Plantation island with a group for a wedding in April. Me and my partner stayed at the Resort earlier this month in a poolside hotel room. The hotel room was ok, although the mosquitos got inside into the room. There were lots of mosquitos around the resort and all our friends were getting bitten also, we had... more

We do not have bed bugs at Plantation Island Resort. Most likely what you experienced were mosquito bites or sand fly bites. We do tend to get more mosquitoes/sand flies in the summer months due to increased rainfall. We combat this by fogging at dusk, and burning mosquito coils during dinner time. Guests are advised to use a tropical strength...
