Booked this place as a higher-end option at the end of a 2-week Fiji trip for our honeymoon. In a word - disappointing. The bures are very, very nice (and clean), with outdoor showers and decent privacy. I should start by saying that the staff are typically Fijian - wonderful, cheery, and provide great service. That being said, the resort... More

From the singing greeting at the island dock to the amazing staff and incredible location, complimented by relaxing poolside for stunning sunsets. Adult only a preference for me moving forward, very calm and peaceful environment on Fiji time. Snorkeling at hotel is great and free use of kayaks and paddle boards make for a great days adventure. Don't miss out... More

We loved Tropic Island Resort. I would absolutely recommend it for a couples get-away. Our bure was lovely and beautifully cleaned every day. The staff were extremely friendly. The pool was lovely and we had great weather for seven days in July. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The service was a little hit and miss with mains arriving... More

This was my second visit to this beautiful resort. I was here last year just after they had opened with my daughter and another couple. I returned this year with my other daughter and son in law and the same two friends. We had just spent three wonderful nights on the same island at Malolo Island Resort. Tropica sent their... More

Bula vinaka Libster1953, Thank you so much for your fabulous review of Tropica. The staff were truly so excited at your return and could not wait to greet you at the jetty and perform your now famous - Taki Taki dance!! Welcoming guests back to Tropica is such a highlight for our staff, and I believe 2 of our past... More

We have just arrived back after a second trip to Tropica resort. Once again after a special arrival, we had a wonderful time. The staff made us feel very welcome. Tropica put on a Lovo ( specially cooked meal in the ground ) the last night we were there, which was delicious. We also enjoyed all the other meals we... More

Bula Sutre69, Thank you so much for your review! It is fantastic to get feedback from our return guests. I'm very happy to heed your advice and we will be off to conduct some market research on alcohol pricing to ensure that we remain competitive. Our last update on pricing was comparing with mainland hotels of similar standard and we... More

This was my experience: No management to be seen and attention to detail, quality, service absent. Good menu choices - however food plated up not always very good. Limited fresh fish. What was served and called snapper was dry and chewy. A request for a special curry meal did not materialise. When it did it was excellent (one day later)... More

Bula mrscapetown, Thank you so much for your feedback. After spending a week on the Coral Coast (Intercontinental Resort) my wife and I looked forward to a week without children (and hopefully without yahoos!) celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary on an island. Tropica did not disappoint. Transferring from the ferry by one of Tropica's two launches we were welcomed by the smiling, singing staff, who we were to come... More

In April we visited the Tropica Island resort and we had a great holiday. The staff is excellent and willing to run the extra marathon for you. If you go there, definitely book one of the ocean front bures (the ones close to the reception desk have still wifi reception). Rooms are ok, but for Fiji standards good. Food was... More

Tropica Island Resort in Fiji was wonderful. We enjoyed the staff, the accommodations, the food, the pool. The beachfront burre is worth the extra money if you can afford it. The menu changes at lunch and dinner every day and the food is excellent… a delightful surprise since you are captive. For most people the food plan probably makes sense.... More

Absolutely amazing. Stayed in the beachfront bure, which was great. The outdoor shower was a must at night under the stars, and I spent a lot of time just swinging on the front porch, ~20m from the beach. The staff were beyond compare and were the highlight of the trip. Very peaceful and a great way to relax and de-stress.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tropica Island Resort is Fiji's newest resort having just opened 1st May, 2013. The result of a multi-million dollar upgrade, the resort has been transformed into a stunning 4 star, adults only boutique resort, blending Fijian and contemporary architecture with beautifully landscaped open spaces, dotted with fish ponds and water features. This is a resort centered around two key themes: Celebration and Rejuvenation. Our 'Director of Celebration' will assist you and your friends/family to design experiences you will never forget, from weddings on the beach, birthday parties poolside or intimate dinners under the jetty Bure. And when you're not celebrating, you may choose to rejuvenate with a spa treatment, relax in a hammock (or island swing) or enjoy your favourite book in our lounge. Guests will experience stunning sunsets, local and international cuisine, a diverse range of motorised and non-motorised activities and most memorably, will be charmed by the warm and friendly Fijian hospitality. The upgrade has seen the addition of a stunning 25 metre horizon pool, 12 fully refurbished Beachfront Bures and 4 Beachfront Suites (with outdoor river-rock showers, air-conditioning and ceiling fans). The renovation has also seen the addition of a stunning new Beach Bar built on the water, an open air restaurant with bar, activities bure and tranquil spa. ... more   less
