Had Sunday lunch in Bucky's Place, formerly the Bird Cage Lounge, as the band in the restaurant for Sunday Brunch was too loud for us. Beautiful setting, but the food was, well, not good: frozen crab claws fried too hard and left under a heating lamp way, way, too long. Cold and greasy "house made" chips, with no dressing. Maybe... Second time here and perfect as before. Love the smell of the wood and the way they have kept the old charm. Staff is extremely well trained and friendly. Special thanks to Alex at the front desk for honoring my elite status with an upgraded room. It was a wonderful room. As one reviewer stated, the main building does have... More

First class operation. Friendly staff! Peaceful atmosphere with all amenities. First class dining in the Grand Restaurant. The bar area had a piano player each night we were there with dancing and dining as desired.

We were at the Grand in January right after the first of the year. Stayed in the spa building with a bay view. The property is gorgeous with short walking paths along the bay and beautiful homes facing the water you can walk in front of from the hotel. The afternoon coffee was delightful even though the coffee wasn't very... More

Good staff is an asset and takes time to build. From the guy at the entry gate, to the front desk, to housekeeping, and the restaurant, they were the friendliest I have experienced in a long time. We liked the guy at the gate so much, we took his picture. Hotel is old but well maintained. Great spot to play... More

I can't express the joy I have at every visit to The Grand. My wife, daughter and I have been making our Christmas season trips here for at least 10 years. The hotel associates are so helpful and pleasant. It is just plain Southern charm. Unlike others that have commented negatively, we enjoy the greeting at the gate and from... More

The grounds are attractive and well-maintained. Service is polite and attentive, if perhaps a bit slow. Food was fine, not superb. (There are plenty of dining options in nearby Fairhope.) Our kids spent a fair amount of time in the pool or at the beach. There were some other family-oriented activities (putting green, croquet lawn, horseshow pits, fishing eqpt) which... More

On first glance, the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort looks like a wonderland. Winding paths lead through outreaching (albeit heavily pruned, indeed heavily sheared) oak trees, floral installations, and fountains. For better or worse, one begins to suspect that either Dean Martin or Lawrence Welk will soon come melodizing along the excessively artful walkways that seem to lead everywhere and nowhere.... More

We absolutely loved our time at The Grand. The views are beautiful, the property is wonderful and very well taken care of, and the old live oaks are incredible! Our room was spacious, very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The entire place was quiet and serene, and it's very close to downtown Fairhope, the pier, and lots of... More

The Grand is a very nice hotel to be sure, with all the best amenities one could ask for, but it's the "feeling" of this place that leaves it's latest effect. Families abound, playing horseshoes and lawn tennis. The daily cannon firing and docent led demonstation thrills kids and adults alike. Check out the free bikes and canoes for a... More
