This hotel has shaken my confidence in finding hotels through the internet. The hotel web site and the reviews I read on other web sites made it sound fine. It was a dump! The first room they tried to put us in had no hot water. This is the first hotel I've stayed in where I was afraid to walk... more

The Capitol Inn is a no-frills hotel, but it is very clean and the staff are friendly/helpful. We paid $72, all taxes included, on a Saturday night. The carpet and beadspread were a bit old and worn, but the room and bathroom were both extra large and extra clean, and the water pressure was great. The outside of the hotel... more

Nice hotel, very friedly staff, clean, comfortable beds. But roach problem, paint peeling in bathroom, bathroom exhaust didn't work Hotel.com charged more than the rack rate, and then added their fee. more

I travel a lot for work, and after a long day of working I decided to go down to the bar. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere albeit smoky. Even though food isn't served, Steve the bartender went out of his way and ordered delivery for me. They also had a jazz trio with no cover charge which... more

The Capitol Inn is a cool place to stay if you are downtown. It has a very retro 70s motel feel to it. The service/staff is super-friendly and the buffet cannot be beat! Due to the location there isn't anything really right there attraction-wise, so you will need to get a car if you want to explore more interesting parts... more

My wife and I enjoyed a two night stay at this most friendly motel in August 2004. It made a welcome change from chain-run places. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and well equipped. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant (breakfast and lunch only), but it looks fine. Excellent, friendly staff and reasonable rates. more

Friendly motel, very popular with local office workers on account of its home-cooked Southern lunches (collalloo, fried chicken and the like). Slightly scruffy but with huge rooms (at least, mine was), king-size beds and a small swimming pool. The staff are very kind and will keep a watchful eye over women travelling alone. Handy for Downtown, but don't walk around... more
