I stayed at the Battle House July 14-18 for a conference. I knew in advance that the rooms in the towers faced the train tracks so I asked for a nice, quiet room away from the train. The front desk associate assigned me room 7131, and it was fabulous. The room is HUGE and is on the inside corner of... more

We booked a room at the hotel through Marriott.com and upon arrival were given an "upgrade" to a suite in the tower. Little did we know that meant next to the all night choo choo party. The room/suite was pretty and rather large, blah blah, but there was NO sleeping due to the outrageously noisy train activity outside ALL NIGHT... more

I decided to take my dh for an overnight stay locally for his birthday to get a break from our 4 children. I booked the "Romance Package" to make things easier for me. We got a King Corner room on the 6th floor. Romance Package added $80 and included: 6 large dark chocolate covered strawberries, bottle of chilled Korbel Brut... more

The Battle House is a wonderful hotel. I'm going to start out by saying yes, this hotel is kinda spendy.... but it's worth it. I loved every minute of our stay here, the staff is so friendly and the place is beautiful! I stayed in a King Room which was a corner room in the RSA Tower (the new part).... more

We travel very often and this has been by far the most beautiful hotel and friendless staff. We were greeted immediately by the hotel manager which she escorted us to the front desk. We were all checked in and ready to head to our room in less than 1 minute. What completely surprised me was that the front desk clerk... more

I am at the Renaissance Riverview right now. First impression - beautiful, spotless, and service excellent. And that has proved true so far. A few negatives: 1. They charge for internet service. That's just chintzy. I've been in much less expensive hotels where internet access is free. 2. This is the big huge negative. The food is horrible and vastly... more

My friend and I spent two nights at the Battle House for a continuing education course we were taking at the RSA tower. The hotel is just beautiful, the stained glass ceilling unbelievable. We had a room with 2 queen beds in the historic part of the hotel. It was a very nice room, but was a weird shape, so... more

This hotel was lovely at a glance. The rooms were wonderful and the little bar was nice as it had a great view of the parade as it made its way through town. However, the service in the bar was very very slow. There was only one restaurant and it had a limited menu and was very pricey. Though the... more

My husband and I spent 4 nights in the Battle House in March, 2008. Upon check-in we learned that wireless internet was available but at a charge of $9.95 PER DAY. This charge also provided unlimited local and long distance calls which I considered useless given that I have a cellphone that provides the same. This was the first time... more

My husband and I stayed at the Battle House in March 2008. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, our room was "spotless", and the location was ideal because we traveled to Fairhope for shopping on one day, then to Biloxi the following day for some casino action. The battleship USS Alabama is just 10 minutes away. We will certainly... more
