We thoroughly enjoyed a 5-night stay at Fort Conde Inn. Our reservations were made simply, there were at two contacts made to us before our stay confirming our reservations, and we were met on the front porch by Kayla. Set up for a wedding was happening on our arrival (which we were informed about prior to our stay), but Kayla... More

When we arrived at the the Ft Conde Inn in Mobile, the doors were locked and we had difficulties reaching anyone that could lock us in an receive us. Short staffed?? Although this was a disappointment, everything was first class after we had managed to check in. A truy boutiqe hotel. Beautiful and comfortable room, well equipped with all comforts.... More

By the time us four girls had left New Orleans we were ready for a more peaceful 2 nights stay, we googled places to stay in Mobile , en route to Orlando eventually, up popped Fort Conde Inn. We pulled up , went in asked for rooms and ended up in the most beautiful cottage , every attention to detail... More

We spent only two nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay; historic area next to Ft. Conde ; we enjoyed coffee on the front porch and upper balcony with a view of the other interesting old homes across the way. Beautiful original details in the rooms, very clean and complete; bathroom rather small but one expects to make some trade-offs for... More

Where to start? Wow. I was there on business for three nights and was treated with total pampering. The staff is extremely accommodating. The food was exquisite. The furnishings were beautiful and Oh! the bed, I slept like a baby. I truly felt like it was my home away from home. I will definitely revisit with my husband and again... More

This was our second year to spend a four day weekend during Mardi Gras with friends at the Blakely Cottage. The location is perfect to walk to the Balls and Parades. I cannot express enough how very accommodating the staff is. Alan, Robbie, Kayla and our housekeeper Georgia were all fabulous. Breakfast last year was a little hectic because they... More

Stayed for one night for mardi gras parade and ball. Convenient placement because it was walking distance but not in heels. Everything was beautiful and the beds were amazing. Stayed in the royal suite in anuntez house. Didn't like how open it was to other people staying in the same house but I absolutely adored it and feel that small... More

I agree with everyone's comments about the beautiful rooms, comfortable accommodations and great breakfast. It is definitely a quaint and pleasant setting. We stayed for Mardi Gras parade and ball at the civic center that night for one night. It was close to the civic center but not close enough to walk in heels. Not a bad walk for parading.... More

We stayed in the main house and the room was very nice. The balcony was nice to sit on. You did hear the interstate noise but was not a distraction. Easy access to downtown, the interstate. Also can walk down to the river and parts of downtown. The renovated houses across the street and the old oaks with the bricked... More

The Inn was a pleasant surprise. We went to Mobile for a Valentine's weekend away, with no idea what we would find. To our surprise, the accommodations were quite comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff was helpful although a special request was not done correctly. Housekeeping was mostly absent. The room was spotless upon our arrival but in a three... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Fort Conde Inn, Alabama's only 4-star, AAA four diamond rated boutique hotel and bed and breakfast, is a luxurious facility exuding the style and feel of nineteenth century Mobile. Requiring two years of meticulous workmanship, the Inn has now been restored to its original Victorian splendor. Built in 1836, the Fort Conde Inn (Hall-Ford House) is Mobile’s second oldest house and its interior and exterior finishes reflect its architectural vintage from original heart pine flooring and custom-milled stairways, moldings, and window and door trim to marble fireplace mantles, plaster walls, 12 foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers. The Fort Conde Inn, located in Mobile's historic Fort Conde Village, has recently expanded to include four newly restored hisorically certified homes: The Antunez House, the Spear-Barter House, as well as the Blakely and Gonzalez cottages. Walking into the Inn today, is like taking a step back in time to when these homes were originally built. The Inn sits on a quiet street in Fort Conde Village surrounded by Victorian homes restored with integrity and respect for their architectural heritage. It is situated adjacent to Fort Conde, a pre-revolutionary war fort built by the French in 1720 and named after the Prince of Conde, a grandson of Luis XIV. Mobile was founded by the French and the fort protected Mobile from incursions by the British. In recognition of the French heritage of this land, the rooms at the Inn have been named in French after friends and family members of the owner. ... more   less
