This is a lovely guest house in the heart of the old quarter of Malacca, owned & run by Thor & Lian. It is a beautiful old renovated warehouse with 9 or 10 simple but clean & comfortable rooms with good air conditioners & tea/coffee provided The street & river view rooms are sought after but we had an inside... The central location of Wayfarer to the attractions and famous eateries made for easy exploring of the town. Loved the laid back and homely feel to the whole environment and Aunty Lian was very helpful with places to eat and was helpful when my friend wanted to book an additional room for the next night. Wifi and AC were good... More

Stayed in the famous Room 6 with its cool balcony overseeing the river. I think for value, this is an awesome room! Location-wise is great due to close proximity to the river, Jonker street and the other heritage sites, plus it's in a quieter lane. I did not have any issues with the noise from the river but I can... More

We stayed in Room 7 which was very spacious and quiet. The Wayfarer is in a good location-- easy walking distance to the main sites and streets. There are restaurants and pubs nearby along the river. Wifi and AC worked great, very comfortable bed.

Stayed here with my 9 year old son for a night in balcony room. Simple but comfortable room with a view over murky river. We enjoyed waving to the cruising boast before bedtime. Birds chirped ALL night (???). Staff were distant and offered nothing but handing over the key. Was a shame they didn't offer breakfast because we spent a... More

The room was spacious and clean. A part of the wall is peeling quite badly. We had a room with a balcony that oversees the river, enjoying a cup of tea and reading a book there is a must! But, if you are a light sleeper, take note that the river cruise runs till 10-11pm and the birds started chirping... More

Whilst Melaka is one of the original centres on the West Coast, I have to admit to much preferring Georgetown as a place. The original centre is a relatively small part of Melaka but is definitely the place to stay.Wayfarers is directly on the river, and within walking distance of all the historic sites. |Whilst it does not serve food,... Run by a lovely family in a historic shophouse right on the river, Wayfarer is central to everything. Get one of the rooms facing onto the river for splendid views. Clean, comfortable, friendly, helpful, and in the best place in Malacca. What a joy. What a find.
