Really loved this hotel. Yes, it's a bit of a walk into town but only 15 minutes or so, so not that far, and I knew that before I booked having done some research. Our room was on the 9th floor overlooking the river (as requested) and ugly new high rise shopping mall/apartment block. Though in the modern wing it... More

Great Service, beautiful rooms and spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They made a huge effort when it was my son's birthday - organised a cake and made a fuss of him - he was so excited and thrilled. The breakfast is great. The pool area is very relaxing and the Spa is very good. The overall... More

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. It is lovely historic building which has been tastefully restored by YTL. But: • The hotel is a long walk from the centre of things – the walk is a good 20 minutes along the river boardwalk into town and some of the boardwalk does not feel safe when you walk along... Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Colonial style hotel with extremely comfortable rooms. Felt like we had gone back in time but with all modern amenities. Easy access to river and shops etc. Did not get time to use the pool but it looked very inviting. We will return!

Vastly overpriced with few amenities. Very little public space, tiny pool in a tiny space. The hotel is noisy with poor soundproofing so you hear everything from around you, the wi-fi is dismal and disconnects all the time, there is no room service and the dining room only does about 12 dishes and when we ordered one night they didn't... Took a quick trip from Raffles Singapore to the Majestic in Malacca - wood, fine linens and an historical feel which was common for both properties. All class and close to the canal where so much happens. Beautiful bathtub in the bathroom and very nice amenities.

Lovely hotel. Historical Colonial. Very nice rooms. Unusual layout. Big open room. If you need a lot of "bathroom privacy" this may be a problem. Great view. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

Very nice and classy hotel. Room is first class and the breakfast is outstanding. Staff very friendly but only speaking very little English. However I wondered why the front desk told us that booking.com charged my credit card for my 4 night stay in advance which is very unusual. Now we know why. The pool is so dirty it looks... More

What you see, is what you get. The Majestic Malacca exceeded all our expectations. Facilities and services were second to none. All the staff were pleasant and always greeted us with a smile. The SPA village got 2 thumbs up from my Mrs, and it takes a lot to impress her. The Majestic will definitely be our only choice of... More

The Majestic Malacca is a very attractive old Colonial-style building, unfortunately dwarfed by surrounding structures. When we were there in early January 2016, construction was going on along the road approaching the hotel, with hoardings making pedestrian access difficult. The hotel faces the river, which should make the views nice, but sadly the local authority has seen fit to build... More
