We had chosen The Sterling based on our friends' recommendations. We booked a Riley for two nights' stay, but the room was not available due to a slip-up. Nonetheless, the staff were really helpful and within a day, they got back with an alternative arrangement for a Leyton on the first night and a Riley on the second night. Kudos... More

The Sterling is very nice, within easy reach of all Malacca's attractions. The rooms were clean and quiet. With both of us being quite tall - the other half 6ft, the beds were on the short side. The concierge was extremely helpful with information on sights, restaurants and offering up all information needed for our stay. The only downside I... More

We had a pleasant stay at the Sterling Hotel. It has probably been the last available room in town that day because of a Malaysian holiday but all the more we were happy that we found this gorgeous Boutique hotel. The service was brilliant and so welcoming. The room we got was huge and nicely designed. The interior was in... More

We booked one room last minute. And the hotel staff are very nice and helpful. We stayed in the room with jacuzzi, and the room is very spacious, and because all room not facing the street the room is very quite. We had a very sound sleep after the full day tour. Definitely will stay in this hotel again when... More

Very happy with the hotel, with some very minor exceptions. Very handily placed to Old Melaka, and as such - once we found our way into the car parking lot, it was left there as we walked everywhere that we wanted to go - Old Jonker St, the Stadhuys, Little India, St Pauls Hill, The replica Isetan, you name it.... Bravo Housekeeping and Front Office team. You have change my thought towards you. In the beginning I am skeptical to book my stay here and ask for special request due to bad experienced with the sales team. This time other team have exceed my expectation and they well deserved to be praised. Breakfast items and the services need to be... More

We had a pleasant 1 night stay for a family room for 4 person. The room was spacious and comfortable. Nice bathroom and comfortable beds. Location of the hotel is good, within 10mins walk to Jonker Street and has ample parking lots. The staff from Reception, porter , and waiter are friendly and helpful and courteous. The not-so-good points :... More

Booked three Riley rooms so we were able to compare the inconsistencies. The rooms have a musty smell that one would associate with an older budget hotel but this is supposed to be a new boutique hotel so I don't know why that is possible. The interior design and grey lights make the place seem miserable. Two out of our... More

My stay was seriously impacted by a defective air conditioner that only worked weakly at the beginning of the night and quit entirely halfway through. Made sleeping very difficult. I stayed two nights; had planned to stay longer, but changed my mind. The building is pretty from the outside and it is set back from the road. White colonial style,... More
