My 2 sons & I (ages 5 & 8) stayed here last week for 2 nights. Melaka has (in my mind) 3 areas - Chinatown's guesthouses & narrow streets to wander (quite safely!), several blocks chock full of museums, and then the big mall area. The guest house is only 2 blocks (maybe less) from Hard Rock Cafe, yet it... More

I stayed in Jalan-Jalan for a few nights when visiting Melaka. Firstly, the owner, Victor, is a very kind and helpful man who tries to make you feel as much as home as possible. And I truly felt like being home! The hostel is extremely cozy and nicely decorated, with enough places to hang out. The dorm room consisted of... More

Jalan Jalan is a cozy hostel, quite spacey with a lounge at the reception and a nice grasspatched yard in the back, both places smoking is allowed. I haven't seen the dorms, but the bunkbed-room me and my mate are staying in is good computers to the Price of 40RM a night. 2 fans, a table and a chair and... More

We paid about RM40 for a double room w/mosquito net, fan, shared bathroom. No major complaints for that price. Pros: eclectic common areas (indoor and out), both staff very nice, building itself is neat, central in Chinatown close to river, free tea, room had extras like desk and chairs, clean bathrooms and showers that are well ventilated for fresh air,... Sam the owner was very nice, unlike the other rude guy who works there, the first room we had was disgusting but then they moved us to another building and it was so much better with nicer room, bathroom is way small, this place is suitable for one night stay, a place to sleep nothing more, if you are on... I stayed here for 2 nights at the weekend, which is a good time to visit because of the Jonker Street night market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Location wise this place was excellent, right near everything that was happening. Close to Jonker St, Dutch Square etc and plenty of supermarkets and restaurants around. The guy at reception was... I stayed here for almost a week through a recommendation of a good friend & it was really more than I expected. Place was really clean & relaxing, also good place to see new friends, location nearby to city centre/ just few steps from Jonker street. The owner was pretty much helpful & informative, I couldn't ask for more.

We found this place, just outside the main busy streets in Chinatown, and stayed for two nights. We booked a double room which was perfect. It's basic but clean and nice, with windows overlooking the little garden. Sam, the guy who runs the place, is a really nice guy. When we left, I had forgotten my headtorch, it turned out... More

We stayed here based on reviews and it was pleasant enough. We had a double in the new building and it was a little odd as there was no staff there, so anytime you wanted to ask for anything or needed directions, we had to go up to the other building a block away. The room was clean and bright... More

This place is amazing! We stayed in a fan room with lots of Windows that we didn't even need the fan. The place has charm and the quirky little details makes it feel like home. The vibe is upbeat, the kind of place where you meet new people and make new friends. They have bikes available which makes exploring Melaka... More
