This is a small very friendly hotel. The hotel has 2 restaurants one that serves Indian food with a small selection of English and another that serves Chinese/thai food, we loved the Indian food fantastically cooked and always ordered too much. The rooms were very basic and I am thankful that we stayed at a cool time of the year... more

My husband and I stayed at the Santiago Hotel for 2 weeks in March 2009. We had read lots of reviews prior to our trip and did have some reservations but as experienced travellers took the plung and went for it. The trip down the dirt track to reception does give you doubts as you are walking down it but... more

Where to start??? On first arriving at the Santiago we was immediately impressed with the calm relaxed atmosphere of the staff which immediately put all the guests at ease. Check in was quick and hassle free, we were shown straight to our room which although basic had everything we could want. We loved the idea of having a seperate lounge... more

This hotel is lovely, very basic, relaxing, amazing staff and fun evening entertainment (bit cheesy but fun). We felt really looked after right from the start. The guys in the restaurant/bars really made it for us, they were fantastic. Great location tucked away from the busy main road. We were quite surprised as there were a lot of older people... more

Just back from 2 weeks at Santiago. Still not altogether sure how we feel about it. Room was very basic (guess this is normal). Tv didn't work. Air conitioning was only worked occasionally. Staff did ask and then remember your name but I actually found this a wee bit over familiar. Lots of older people staying there who obviously go... more

This was my first trip to Goa and I went with my girlfriend to celebrate my 30th. I booked this hotel because of the reviews I have read on this website and booked up with Thomsons. As mentioned in other reviews the staff are fantastic. They remember your name after asking only once and are very attentive without being intrusive.... more

This is the second time to the Santiago. November 2008 and it was so good went back in January 2008 just returned today. This hotel is not 5 star. But the staff and food you would rate 5 star plus. The rooms are basic, but clean. They are cleaned every day with fresh sheets and towels. There is only a... more

First glance at our room, and we both wondered what we'd got ourself into ... fairly basic, although clean to be fair. We dumped our cases and went straight to the bar ... wow, the greating - it was out of this world. It was the same each and every day, the staff treat you like royalty ! The food... more
