This is the 2nd year in a row we have stayed here with our camper. Sites are big and spacious and bathhouse are perfect. Always clean and taken care of. The only downfall I can see is its not very shady but besides that we love it. Did have a problem with making the reservation. I wanted to start on... More

This is the first time we had stayed for any length of time at a park that caters to Snowbirds. Frankly that is part of the reason we chose the location as we needed to stay put for more than two weeks. The residents have bonded well over time and welcome newcomers easily. I blended into the 3x/week exercise class... More

Love this place, we had a fantastic get-a -way. The pet friendly cabin, the walking trails, the Rangers, the entire team is top notch. The facilities are well maintained and clean. Location to beaches and restaurants can't be beat.

Four of us stayed in a pet-friendly cabin over New Year's. A $15/day fee is added on for pet damage - not bad, not great. Having said that, here's my warning list: 1) beds are double, hard as concrete, 2) beds had sheets and coverlet only; no blankets anywhere, 3) cooking stove was apartment sized, dirty oven, elements kept coming... We stayed at this park for a little under a month - monthly rate is very reasonable especially seeing you have full hook up (50 amp) and a choice of site types - all concrete pads with picnic table and a BBQ grill. We chose a waterfront site overlooking a freshwater lake. We were a little disappointed as we thought... More

Thought we'd b able to bike ride to the beach. Nope. Not many trees and very bad stickers in the grass areas (not good on the dogs pads). Cement slabs for level parking. Great Camp Store. Very friendly people. No fire puts. Can, however, bring your own.

I booked the cabins/ cottages and activity center for my staff retreat and found the whole thing to be perfect. It was centrally located, had a beautiful property, and tons of amenities for all. The staff was very happy! The three bed/ bath cottages have been updated and include granite countertops and beautiful furniture. The cabins are a little more... More

Since I have lived in the gulf coast around Galveston the majority of my life I have not experienced a lot of other beaches. We have been here for almost a week and are enjoying the relaxing atmosphere in this huge state park. There are almost 500 sites and they are all well kept. Bath houses are very plentiful and... I came expecting a "cabin" experience and I was good with that. Three friends and I drove in from Texas looking for a quiet time to just rest, relax and renew because we all have very intense jobs. We rented cabin 31.... When we unlocked the door and went in all of our jaws dropped because it was so nice... More
