I was in the area contracted to a Government Agency after Hurricane Ivan.
The room was adequate but service was poor.
I was completing paperwork in my room just after midnight when someone banged loudly and persistently on my door.
I called front desk and asked them to check who it was.
I am a woman traveling alone, so security is important to me.
They told me they would call the Sheriff, which made me think this was nor the first time this had happened.
I was told the sheriff had checked the area and found nobody.
An hour later it happened again. This time I insisted they get the police to approach quietly, and let me know what happened.
The deputy told me they apprehended a man armed with a shotgun. He was known to local police.
So be aware security is not the best.
I checked out the next morning, after sampling the awful coffee.
The lady on the front desk did not speak English or Spanish, so I had to wait 15 minutes until the Manager... more
