If a rustic state park is what you like, this is the place for you. The attractions are limited, mainly the view and mountain lake beach. We were there for a wedding. I keep thinking the couple select the park for the view, but wish had about how inconvenient the location was for the guest.

Always wanted to go and check out Alabama's highest point. We requested a cabin with screened porch. We didn't get it and it rained the whole time therefore we were stuck in a cold cabin with terrible tv reception and nothing to do. I also can't believe the fire Marshall doesn't bust this place for having only one exit in... More

We reserved a 4 person cabin with the impression there would be wifi but no tv in the cabin. When we arrived, there was satellite tv but the AT&T mifi unit was not working correctly so no wifi. There was a sign in the store that said phones in the rooms (hotel) did not work and there was no wifi.... More

My cousin booked the lodge for her wedding venue so the entire family stayed in the lodge, chalets and cabins. They would have been ok for a camping event but not really an appropriate place for wedding preparations. Also, I understand that these are out in the woods but they really need to control their ant problem in the kitchens.

We stayed in a pet friendly chalet. Great place, we thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations (except that our bed was NOT comfortable) and the park in general. The staff in the office though really seemed to not care whether we were there or not, went to get help because our gas fireplace was not working and took several minutes to find... More

We read about the park in our AAA magazine, and decided to take a short side trip on our way to the Great Smoky Mountains. We book about 6 months in advance, and were able to reserve a bluff cabin. The cabins were built in the 1930s by the CCC from local granite, and were updated inside in the 90s.... More

My wife and I were seeking a quiet retreat during the fall foliage season. We had visited Cheaha several times in the last few years but this was our first overnight. The leaves were just beginning to turn (Oct 15-18) and we had a really nice time hiking, relaxing and reading. Cabins 5 and 6 are their deluxe "honeymoon" cabins... More

Went there for our anniversary. This was extra special since we had spent our Honeymoon there at the hotel. The only room left to book online was a double bedroom (2 full sized beds). It was fine, but did not have a microwave, nor a refrigerator or any kind (we brought cheese, etc.). The room was clean and beds comfy,... More

Stayed two nights in a rustic cabin for two. Pet friendly cabin was very quaint. This cabin is in a State park if you are expecting all the comforts of a 5 start you should look elsewhere. The cabin is just what it says rustic but very functional and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bathroom is small... More
