The drive up and back is the only reason I give the rating I do. Beautiful surroundings. The restaurant lacks in all except the views. We arrived Monday Nov. 24th was seated and asked our drinks. The drinks arrived with the check and that was the last we seen of the wait staff. The vegetables come from a can and... More

Check in was fast and friendly. Store/registration was busy due to the season we have visited many times so this was expected. Enjoyed the gift selection and looking while waiting to check in. The hotel room had new bed and was now pet friendly we were happy with this. Hotel does need painting out side sorry they have not had... More

My family and I visited Cheaha State Park for a three day weekend. We all had an amazing time! I checked us in at the Country Store while my husband took the kids over to the Indian Museum directly across the street. (They all loved the museum, as well as the volunteer that was running it.) The girls who checked... More

We stayed in the honeymoon suite at the park's hotel. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable and the decor seemed fairly new. The room had a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave and whirlpool bathtub. The room was clean but the bathroom had mildew and the tub was dirty. The bathroom sink was clogged and we saw several roaches in... More

The chalets are little more than motel 6 rooms with a peaked roof. The chimney leaks, cob webs all over the place. Fridge was turned off so don't be in a rush to chill anything down, ac didn't work, wifi didnt work, spiders in the bathtub, ignored requests for maintenance floors were scratched. The furnishings spartan and hard. The beds... More

My husband and I went to Cheaha 2 weekends ago for the first time! I was greeted by a friendly woman when I checked in. They seem to love to the job and the customers. We stayed in a hotel room across from the pool (pool was really clean and had plenty of space) The trails were really easy to... More

I read some of the reviews before my visit so was not surprised to see a wedding! I talked to some of the guest at breakfast the morning after the wedding on the deck and found out they traveled from japan! Everyone was excited to be together it made my husband and myself glad we came! We enjoyed a great... More

My husband and I enjoyed a quiet, relaxing weekend away from the July hustle and bustle, humidity and stormy weather of the FL Panhandle. It is a State Park and not the Ritz, so it's not plush, but it certainly served it's purpose. We got one of the last rooms in the hotel at the last minute and thoroughly enjoyed... More

If a rustic state park is what you like, this is the place for you. The attractions are limited, mainly the view and mountain lake beach. We were there for a wedding. I keep thinking the couple select the park for the view, but wish had about how inconvenient the location was for the guest.

Always wanted to go and check out Alabama's highest point. We requested a cabin with screened porch. We didn't get it and it rained the whole time therefore we were stuck in a cold cabin with terrible tv reception and nothing to do. I also can't believe the fire Marshall doesn't bust this place for having only one exit in... More
