Stayed overnight during a WC trip to Brazil. The hotel is right on the seashore with nice views to the ocean, the sound of which was a respite from otherwise not-so-good hotel experience. I made a check-in late in the evening after the match, with 6am flight to catch next morning. No hot food was available by the time of... More

Knowing this hotel is a 3 stars, I didn´t have much expectations. Visiting Brazil during the World Cup even decreased those expectations, but this hotel managed to deliver less than expected. The hotel has no restaurant, no room service; they offer breakfast in a space too small for the number of rooms, wich means you´ll have to share the table.... More

My flight arrived really early in the morning so got to the hotel before 7am, by taxi which cost R$25. The porter showed me where I could go to get a cup of coffee. The receptionist was polite and helpful. I was able to check into my room by 1030. I made my booking through booking.com and it was all... More

I stayed 6 nights at this hotel and i've got absolutely anything to complain about it, despite the fact that it was being refurbished. I found the room really good and as it is flat, there's a pretty good kitchen, separated by a wall, with a 2 seats table. The bed was comfortable, nice shower, new air conditioning system and... We ended up staying here 4 nights instead of one. We had one of the refurbished rooms which was very spacious and modern. Nice view over the sea. All for 55 pounds a night compared to nearby hotels which were in excess of 150 pounds per night. At low tide there's a small beach and large rock pools to bath... More

First of all, there is no 'Golden Tulip' brand attached to this property anymore. Their internet site is: http://www.goldenbeach-pe.com.br/ Go check the pics on that site and then compare with the pics I have posted, it is sarcastic! Secondly, trust the reviews and don't even consider staying at this property. Eventhough it might not sound that expensive during off-season, it... More

About the only thing good about this hotel is the location. The service is unreliable - in fact, even with help my Brazillian friends translating, I was lied to when I asked about various services. The blankets are thin and flimsy, the pool is advertised (but unavailable), many of the menu items are not available; and the ones that are... More

My wife and I went for a two week vacation to Brazil along with our daughter and her husband. Our daughter was born in Recife, so this was an opportunity for her to show her husband where she had lived the first eight years of her life! The hotel location is great along the Recife coastline. It is also within... More

Room 1808 - especially the bathroom - was not clean enough. Toilet would not flush and vault was broken. Food was good but had an unfrozen aspect. Customer service could certainly improve... I made a reservation through goldentulip.com but the hostess could not find it in the computer. At the end, he gave me a curious advice: "You should not... More

Though not near the main downtown, the beach front location was very nice. I was told that the entire Recife beach is a shark warning area. There are also signs on the beach. Right in front of this hotel, however, is a small, natural rock outcropping such that when the tide is out a natural protected area is formed for... More
