Booked this through an agency at a discount in Recife. Great views with nice balcony to open the doors into your room at night. Nice gentle breezes and very comfortable beds with soft pillows.

I arrived in Recife Mar Hotel after take a flight early in the morning and work all day, for my surprise my reservation wasn’t there, they told me that it was canceled, but ok, I called the agency and they managed for me (not a big deal)…
The lady in the reception told me that she was updating my room,...

I stayed at the Mar Hotel for a week. It is within walking distance of the beach promenade and only 5-10 minute drive from the airport. The lobby is nice, the rooms were fine, and the fitness center was very "basic."

If you have to stay in Recife, this is a good place. It is very close to the airport (Taxi 10 minutes) and to the Praça da Boa Viagem. The breakfast buffet was great, the hotel restaurant reasonably priced. Our room (executive) had a safe, cable television and free wireless internet. The price of the room was labeled with 1220...

I've stayed in a spaced room, new, nice and clean for a week. Liked everything! dinner menu has just few options. Breakfast was superb! I do recommend it!

What a terrible bedroom, old, smells horrible.
Everything seems to be from 40 years ago there.
What a terrible experience.
Recife does not have good places to stay...

My husband and I went to Mar Hotel for our honeymoon. Actually, I also got ready for my wedding in the suite, which was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bathroom looked like it had been renovated recently and the shower was excellent!
The pool was really big and it had an amazing waterfall, which made it 5-stars!!! We spent...

I've been to Mar Hotel for the 4th time last week. What i saw is a decadent "once a 5-stars" hotel, now not worth a 3 stars.
Old furniture, old TVs, dirty bathtubs, service OK, breakfast OK.
It has aged like Recife, today a unsafe, violent city, which i DO NOT recommend.
