Off the main street in Kolkata making for a pleasant and quiet place to stay. Close to the centre of town so very convenient. A short walk or tram ride to Victoria Monument. The included breakfast that I had was more than enough for me and very delicious. Very accommodating staff. I had a very late arrival (1.15am) and a... More

The Bodhi Tree is located in a small but quiet back street and so the place was quiet. On entering it is well decorated with lots of interesting art. The accommodation was lovely, we had a spacious room near the front entrance. The bed was comfortable but the bedding was a little unusual, there were not standard sheets and blankets... More

Nice and clean rooms, very friendly staff in a place that makes you feel home in Kolkata. With the art gallery attached and each room having it's own theme this is a really nice place to stay while you're in Kolkata. Nice beds and a clean bathroom allow you to relax and prepare for a day of sightseeing.

Thanks, staff at Bodhi Tree. We had an enjoyable stay. Our room was clean and spacious. Staff always tried to make us feel comfortable. Location was quiet and out of the way. That suited our travel requirements. Breakfast was average and a small portion. Unfortunately wifi was not always working, due to an electrical storm and is not available in... More

This was a lovely hide away from the world outside. The place is very clean and the staff very helpful. It is very close to the metro so easy to get around. The shopping centre is a quick shared tuk tuk down the road.

We had a truly wonderful stay at the Bodhi Tree and are already planning our return. Owner Devdan is an author, poet and art enthusiast doing great things in the city. We stayed in two of their rooms over 14 days and had a great experience. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, even when we had a problem (TV not... More

Bodhi Tree is an inn that also serves as a small art gallery. That is why, upon entrance, you'll find paintings and other works of art being displayed. It certainly is a welcoming sight after surviving the madness of traffic jam, crowded cars and dozens of people roaming the street, which is only 5-minute walk from the hotel. The staff,... More

I was there with a friend in February. The place looks like a renovated house. The rooms were very dark and the light never seemed enough. However, the warm hospitality makes up for the not-so-good rooms.

First, the positives: hotel seems very safe as main door is kept locked at all times. The Tantryana room is indeed visually beautiful and boutique hotels such as this one have character and seem to attract interesting and broad-minded guests. Also, dinners were tasty and had generous portions. Unfortunately, though, overall service is not good. The young men mean well,... More
