Visited here with G Adventures Tour. First impressions - Gated outside, security on door, porter to take bags to room. Lovely lobby. Rooms - Medium sized, comfortable beds, tastefully decorated. Hot water with medium strength shower. Western toilet with toilet paper provided. TV with English News channel only (otherwise Indian) Facilities - Wifi in lobby only, free of charge. Restaurant... The property features spacious rooms and top location right in the downtown. Step out of hotel to access new market area. Park street is stones throw away. Now this looks to be an very old property brushed up time to time. But never really modified to near recent architecture levels. Do not expect anyone to smile and greet you. Concierge... More

Set back off Suffer St with its own courtyard. Once through the gates, you can leave the mad circus that is Kolkata behind. Rooms are well appointed - a/c, fan, seating area, desk etc. Bathroom worked fine. Buffet breakfast is complimentary for most rooms but check with front desk first! Not the closest hotel to S S Hogg (new) market... More

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. Excellent location, nearest to new market, the shopping district of Kolkata. Excellent room service and reception as well. Very Courteous staffs. The hotel buffet breakfast is excellent. it is a three star hotel. Although a bit pricey, But service makes it an excellent option to stay.

Kolkatta is still a lovely city. This hotel suited me because my workplace was a mere ten minutes and in Kolkatta traffic is quite woeful. However, the hotel was decent. Good breakfast, service was prompt. Rooms though spacious could do with some refurbishment . Good value.

The main advantage is the location, its a old hotel not all done up, the window AC was dissapointingly old, with shabby knobs, and most importantly making more noise than cooling. It can be a good Business Hotel, due to loaction advantage, but they should replenish the whole hotel, they have done it at certain places only. Food was good,... More

Stayed for a couple of nights. The lobby and courtyard are fine, however rooms and hotel corridors were average, more home-like than a hotel really (I am partial to duvets), which was a let-down considering they charged five grand for the room. My room was in a separate building across from the structure housing the lobby, maybe the rooms in... More

I got this hotel for a few nights due to a mix up! Really an European hotel situated near new market and trying to have best of both worlds. Very expensive for India I feLt I ha.d been ripped off. The rEstaurant serves good range of breakfast choices but you might as well stay in Europe. Very supercilious front room... More

Arrived in the early hours of the morning and check in was smooth despite us waking up the night staff. Room was spacious with a good bathroom. Air Con unit has seen better days and was very noisy making it impossible to leave it on. Door lock was well dodgy and there was a knack to getting it to open... More
