I booked the stay from Stayzilla, and single room costed ₹500 per day. I needed a single room in budget range, and the stay offered almost all I could expect, other than a decent bathroom. The bathroom is basically a small untidy cubicle. If one can adjust to that, you won't find any other issues as the hotel is located... More

I have stayed here twice, and since I am used to low Indian standards, I found it ok. It is rather quiet, and off Sudder Street, and close enough to New Market, where I like to eat at a food stand with excellent Dosa and Rawa Idli and Sambar (vegetarian places are rare in Kolkata). The owners of Capital GH... More

The rooms were ok. The bathroom was very messed up. But the location of the hotel is descent which makes good access to most part of the city. I travelled with my family. The staff is not bad. Overall average stay.

To be honest, I was just tired of looking for hotels after 3 weeks in India. I had stayed in another place nearby the night before, and the bed made my body itchy, so I had to get out. Capital Guest House gave me a single room for 650, but they told me I have to check out at 8:30am... More

Location good, rooms clean enuff, clean sheets, fan, TV with cable, off street parking. Lets face it Sudder St is a sess pit, and unless your ready to spend 1200 INR+ you have to lower your expectations. Budget accommodation in Kolkata can be down right Scary. As sad as it might be Capitol hotel is one of your best choices... More

I stayed long back ago in 2012 during Durga Puja, the rooms weren't clean as I have expected, the services were not up to the mark as prices I have paid. I stayed there with my family, they have also experienced same kind a feel. Wished they have improved some in current days...

I joined Tripadvisor mainly to post this review. I stayed in this "hotel" for one night too long early in 2012. It is honestly the most miserable, disgusting cesspit one can imagine. The service was almost as bad. IT IS TRULY BETTER TO SLEEP IN THE STREET. To be avoided at all costs. Run like hell!
