This place is in a decent location meaning that things like the museum, planetarium and Victoria monument are all within walking distance. There are also plenty of restaurants around and it is close to a large market. The room we had was small and dirty with hot water provided in a bucket. Luckily for us we loved the city so... More

Actually I have gone there two times. One for journey to Darjeeling and Gangtok and we stayed there for two days for Kolkatta visit. Next in summer 2013 we stayed there for 4 days for my daughters entrance exams. We stayed in the room above shown and with family. I do not know about other rooms, but this family room... More

We booked this place as we only had 2 night in Calcutta. It's the worst hotel I've ever seen. Dirty, smelly and weird... Staff like to ask tips then they look at the amount you give. An advice, stay away from this "hotel". There is much more better around.

I Stayed in hotel and found quote good. Very helpful staff and management team. They care for your money and give the right guidance for kolkata and near by trip.  The hotel looks cramped overall.  The rooms are not very large, but just big enough to stay.  The room which I stayed was on the ground floor and was quite neat, including the bathroom/toilet. BTW there is no geyser in the bathroom and incase you need to hot water, you will need to ask the service staff.... More

This was a really small, cramped and very dirty hotel. My room was really dirty and didn't like the fact you could get locked in your room through the design of the locks on the door!! They also stated online that they had wifi but when I arrived there was none in sight. I checked in and saw the room... More

dirty, dingy, smelly hotel with health and safety hazards. weird steps down the bathroom into room made us loose our balance many times. had a nasty fall and a big gash on forehand. the sudder street area has much better good value hotels so my suggestion is to find one in that area rather than this one

It was the worst, I have ever experienced. Dirty rooms... staffs were not friendly at all. No water in the bathroom in morning. So we left this place and moved to another hotel in morning only.. Its a complete NO NO..

Me, my wife and my 03 year old son stayed at hotel Diplomat. I was in Room no.106, room has no window and there is large open space above room door. At night anybody can peep in that room from that open space. Squeaking bed was a worst experience. As our train was at 10 pm, we check-out and kept... More
