I've been staying at this hotel on and off for about 5 years now. This time, the decrease in quality and maintenance standards was pathetic to say the least. And this when I see the room tarriff increasing steadily. Rooms have been made up nicely, but not maintained at all. All our rooms were exceptionally dirty with unclean toilet bowls... more

The room was dirty. The walls were filthy: it had black stains and worst of all had nose droppings stuck to the wall.The bedsheets had several red stains (probably due to betel leaf juice) The room was too cramped for double occupancy. The bathroom floor was ok. The toilet bowl was dirty. On the whole my stay for the night... more

I booked this hotel through travelguru, as Shelter's website doesn't seem to work. We loved the Shelter and will stay here again! It is one of the best hotels in Chennai for under $50. Their veggie restaurant is better in quality than their non-veg, however there is a Saravana Bhavan very close by. Shelter is located in a nice neighborhood... more
