New Woodlands Hotel in Mylapore, Chennai, is a well-established, decades-old hotel. It is one of the best places for family stays and dining. It has several halls, which are rented out for weddings and other functions. It is very well patronized. It has different types of restaurants, which serve quality vegetarian food. Its butter masala dosa is very famous, liked... More

I stayed in this place for a single night and was quite disappointed. Room access is bad - you have to walk past parking, wedding hall etc and these are generally noisy and crowded. Food is average - used to be excellent.

Worst serviced hotel in chennai worst food worst service except room cleaners worst internet wifi connection its wil keep on disconnect and you need to call reception every time to get new password. And the receptionist will tell you to get mobile and laptop to reception. They will not send any service people to help room guests. Totally Junk

Western Tourists may find this Hotel a little uncomfortable. While the rooms are well appointed, the location of the accommodation units is rather poor. The rooms are behind the car park and the area does not seem clean. The steps leading to the rooms are also poorly lit up and rather dirty. Also the constant noise from the movement of... More

I was a little apprehensive about staying in Chennai because I'd never been there before but several of my friends had stayed at the New Woodlands and recommended it. The hotel is separated from the street by a wall so it is kind of like a small complex and very safe. There are two restaurants on premise. One serve s... More

I stayed here for 1.5 days as I reached the hotel early in the morning and I checked out the next day, paid 1.5 days charge, which is nominal tariff considering the location near to my business place, 2kms, 20 mins walk to marina beach, good food, in the afternoon we wait to get seated in the big restaurant virundhavan,... I stayed at New Woodlands while travelling on work. It's a lovely place. Old art deco style building, clean. Reservations: Done completely over phone and paid full advance. The reservation desk was very efficient. Service: It's a large property. Apart from the regular delay in room service, the nothing much to complaint about. Food: There are two restaurants and both... Rooms are very spacious (but could be brighter and airier) as is the campus. The quaint old building is generally well-maintained although a paint job wouldn't hurt! Service staff are polite and the attached restaurant serves tasty traditional South Indian food (even a carnivore like myself couldn't complain!)
