I have stayed at Woodlands many times and it is now my first choice when I visit Chennai. The location is great - right on Cathedral Raod, not far from Gemini and Anna Salai, close to Music Academy and other concert halls. The rooms are reasonably clean, breakfast is complimentary, room service is quick, restaurants serve good South Indian vegetarian... More

This is a bit old style hotel located on prime location of Radhakrishnan road. But they do have rooms for all budgets. This was our 2nd visit to this hotel & this is located very close to US & British embassies. We stayed in Executive AC room which costed about Rs. 3200 net inclusive of breakfasts & complementary wifi. Room... More

Scaling it on the usual criteria, Location- Excellent Food- Excellent ( veg food. But really yummy. The breakfast buffet is limited but what is available is of the... More

Happened stt at this old hotel to attend to my US visa intview. Located on RK Salai, the tariff was less than 2K and has fine dining options (South Indian and North Indian). Accessible to 10 restaurants located in this area.

For our visa interview at the US Embassy, I with my mum stayed at this old property. There were no issues with respect to the security as the hotel is a very reputed one in Chennai. The restaurant offering south Indian cuisine seems to be very famous as it was packed with customers during lunch and dinner. There is a... More

Stayed here for 2 nights this week. The rooms are old styled but the plus point is that they are very clean. No musty smells here. For the price that they come for, and for the location the hotel is situated in, it is absolutely value for money. The room service is the fastest that I have ever experienced. And... More

This is quite a rundown property, quite old. When checked in was given a room which was quite old. Asked the same to be changed immediately and was accommodated in the new wing which is good. However price suddenly went up by a couple of hundred.

This is one of the oldest hotels in town and clearly has the monopoly on the market among the Chennai middle class (the hotel has facilities for weddings and functions) and others who come for the music events that happen close to the hotel. The hotel is sadly neglected and the rooms and bathrooms are ill designed and run down.... More

New Woodlands is big and institutional -- indeed, you could call it bureaucratic and impersonal. But it delivers exactly what it promises. Its extensive facilities are scrupulously maintained and utterly clean. The bustling restaurants serve tasty food. They pretty much nail the 3-star-hotel category, Part of the New Woodlands brand is a certain cultural conservatism, so in addition to being... More
