Their website seemed ok, and I had to book this place as there was no other choice at 1 a.m. When i arrived, the place looked really filthy and a bit creepy (luckily it is accross a police station, and it IS Chennai, so it is a bit safer than other cities in India). The person in charge was very... More

if your looking for anything above a .25 star ledge, this place isn't for you. being one of the only gueshouses on hostel world made it really the only choice without hitting up the hotels. the rooms are dirty, and i say that with the upmost backpacking experience behind me, i believe the sheets have never been washed, ever. i... Again as I also wrote about this place , always remember you have paid some flat 400 bucks for a room of your own - > good privacy . Among both the visa consulates , the finger print center is a bus (5 rs ticket ) away and VI center you can even go walking. Has a tea shop just... More

Nobody knew where this place was. It took us almost an hour to find it. We stayed here one night, thankfully. After being in India for 5 weeks we knew a bit about the scams. We were shown to our room by a man clutching a bottle of Kingfisher. He asked for a 'service charge' once he'd shown us the... More

The lodge's redeeming qualities are the price of its rooms, the value for money and that they are online bookable. The rooms are clean but dusty, which seems to be more a feature of Chennai than the lodge, but also self contained, though soaps and toilet paper you'll need to bring yourself. The gates close at 11pm, though someone is... More

I had stayed there when i came to go to Apollo Hospital. Its an Old Building which has been maintained well. The staff were very co-operative and the price was definitely VALUE FOR MONEY. They do not have A/c rooms (all rooms are non a/c). If anyone is looking for economical accommodation with not too many fancy things then it... More

For 620 rupees on Hostelbookers I didn't expect this place to be clean, and it wasn't. Parts of the hotel smell like someone was using the hallways as a toilet. The sink and shower would barely dribble a little cold water- I recall standing under the shower waiting and waiting to get wet. The wifi they advertise on their web... More

The photographs of the rooms shown are not the rooms that we give to people who come through Hostelbookers (ie Photo 1 and Photo 2) but the rooms which have been kept aside for alteration. The third picture of a wash basin (Photo 3), is a wash basin in an area meant for cleaning and other staff. This person takes... More

Stayed in Zama Lodge because there's not many hostel selection in online hostel booking service. When I arrived there, there's no computer on the reception desk. I think I should've got a better room based on the room description during the online booking. The room is dusty, the fan is not even working, the bathroom is terrible. The only advantage... More

I stayed there when i went to the U.S.Consulate. Its an Old Place and they have done it up well. Their tariff was resonable and the staff quite helpful. It is walkable distance from the U.S.Consulate. they also have a website for booking i guess. www.zamalodge.com. Have a look at the photos there and you would know yourself what it... More
