This old palace is well placed in Jaipur. The rooms are large - the beds as with most Heritage hotels a bit hard! Staff helpful - only had one night would have liked to stay longer.

This hotel is set on a large property in the centre of the city, providing a sense of space and calm in a very busy city. This is the third time I've stayed here this year and love the attentive staff, although they are not invasive. The food in the garden restaurant is great. I enjoyed swimming everyday in the... More

I cannot recomment this hotel highly enough. Our room was wonderful, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We so enjoyed the peace of the pool and garden, surrounded by wonderful plants and wildlife. We ate at both the Garden restaurant and also the dining room, where the staff all looked after us tremendously, and the food was all delicious.... More

We are normally five star people but wanted a taste of India and we were not disappointed. Our first reaction on arrival, turning into the hotel whose outer walls were badly in need of a coat of paint, was that we had made a big mistake. We'd booked a suite and on inspection our worst fears seemed to have been... More

The hotel is in a good location and the rooms are spacious however they could do with a paint job / refurbishment. The grounds are nice and the service is impeccable.

We stayed at the sister property, Castle Kanota, about 15 kms out of Jaipur, and came to Narain Niwas during the day. The owners and staff exuded the warm hospitality that we discovered to be a hallmark of the Rajasthani heritage. It is run by the same Rajput family who have lived here for several generations, not a hotel chain,... More

This was the only hotel out of eight that we stayed in on our recent holiday that was not enjoyable. We were prepared for a character hotel given that it is a heritage property but were not prepared for the shabby peeling paintwork, the old torn shower curtain and the very cold bedroom with no means of heating. We were very... More

A traditional hotel with individually decorated rooms. Entrance is via a very impressive lobby with a verandah outside on which you can take tea. Some of the rooms are located bungalow-style in the grounds; others are within the main building. Ours was located off a first floor courtyard. Our only "complaint" about the room was that the doorway to the... More

Stayed two nights at the Narain Niwas. I liked my room which was very spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was also large and clean. The grounds were nice and it is quite a peaceful place in the middle of a noisy city. My friends and I ate dinner in the garden one night and the meal was satisfactory. We... More

We stayed at this hotel on referral from a French businessman we met in Delhi. We took a suite room which was all that was available. The room was very large and highly decorated. It was on the ground floor. As it was noisy (located near the kitchen) and the room, though very evocative, was spooky, we moved to a... More
