The hotel is a bit dated looking. the room we received feels a little bit institutional but was large and comfortable. it seemed clean. no hairs or bugs on the bed! the bathroom is a bit grotty and there were some hairs and such about the room. the room had a fan, aircon, a television and DVD player. the television... more

located in a quiet office area, behind the main train station "Victoria station" , a couple of restaurants near by, very nice staff and clean rooms (being renovated while we were there) 4600 rupies per night for a double room, not expensive for a decent place in Mumbay. around 50 rupies to go to the city's main spots from the... more

Firstly about Mumbai. Its a polluted( noise, smell and physical), poor, dirty can over populated city. So wherever you go you will find the above. Depending on the suburb the above will be to a greater or lesser extent. The trick is to choose a hotel that has the least of the above. I booked via the hotel website. Negatives... more

The Grand Hotel may be an older hotel ("faded" according to the Lonely Planet), but it has charm, convenient location, great price and excellent service. We stayed one night, and had a 5 minute walk the next morning to the main train station (CST) to catch an early train to Goa. No complaints about the Grand Hotel; it was just... more

We stayed here for a couple of nights when we arrived in India. The hotel is pricey for what it gave but then Mumbai is much more expensive. It is reasonably quiet and close to CST but away from Colaba. The rooms are large, reasonably clean but a bit old and faded. The bathrooms were OK but were a bit... more

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel this last December for about a week. I would unhesitatingly recommend it, subject to the few caveats below. The room was spacious and clean and very quiet. The staff were uniformly friendly and gracious and their English was decent. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room (a deluxe double... more

There is NOTHING you can say that's good about this place, honestly. Here's what you can expect: 1. Call the hotel two weeks before to make a booking, and you'll be met with "December 5? No problem, sir. You'll get it." Sound confused, and request to make a booking anyway, and the response will be, "Booking? You want to make... more

This is a clean and pleasant looking hotel. The room we had was spacious, though the bathroom was a bit small. This hotel was a good choice for south Mumbai and the hotel staff were on hand to provide any advice. The hotel does not have internet or wireless, but there is a cyber cafe nearby. Breakfast is provided and... more

I stayed here in Jan 2006 and loved it! It has an old-world charm, and the service is warm, friendly and I found the staff very helpful. Staying here was like stepping back to the days of the British Raj in India. Also since rates are higher than neighbouring lodges and guesthouses, you can have a peaceful stay here without... more

Stayed in the hotel in November 2005. The staff was not nice at all and the property looks quite run-down. The location is good though but the rates are too high compared what you get for. Breakfast is very limited aswell. If you can, avoid this hotel. more
