The location may not be great in comparision to the seaside! But definitely an excellent place to stay. Very Helpful staff! Excellent breakfast! Clean rooms! Had a very comfortable stay! An unassuming hotel, but ideal for a not too expensive stay in Bombay. Ideally situated, near the Gateway of India, 20 minutes walk from Marine Drive, same for the railway station. My kids told me the Suba breakfast was the best meal they had in India. Bring ear plugs if you leave the a/c switched on during the night.

We stayed two nights in March. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast selection. Very reasonable laundry service. Close to Gateway to India, very interesting for people watching. Also close to famous Leopold cafe and cafe Mondegar. The lift man and the restaurant manager at the hotel were charming and very smiley. It was a good short stay in the Colaba area.
