Me and my wife visited this village through Grassroutes. We had a great experience. The people in the village are just amazing. They are really warm and helpful. Special mention to our guide Dutta who left no stones unturned in ensuring we had a good stay. This is a great place for people who would like to see real India... More

I had been planning a trip to Purushwadi for many seasons now, but I was finally glad when my friends and I finally made it. And are we glad we did! The location of the camp site is splendid - just off the road and a short walk from everything - the river and the swimming pool that it forms... More

Purushwadi is a picturesque village located a few hours east of Mumbai. The Grassroutes experience is truly one of the more unique that I have had in India. We got there and were assigned to a host family who fed us traditional meals like Puran Poli, which are delicious. All of the villagers have such a great attitude, and they... More

Their booking experience is smooth. The team at GrassRoutes helps you at every turn. Especially Naomi. It’s effortless. Post booking, they provide you with directions and travel arrangement choices you could make to reach the place. And a checklist with some do’s and dont’s. Our trip started out as confusing. We were promised little things that weren't delivered upon. Then... More

Grassroutes offering at Purushwadi as a chance to watch a million fireflies light up the night sky shouldnt be missed for anything in the world. I'd been there once in 2011 and recently repeated it for a second time. The village homestays are modest yet comfortable. Food is simple yet sumptuous It's the most comfortable rural tourism experience to look... More

It was different. Living in tents, eating with villagers, experinceing the true village life with no city dweller adulteration. Great experience for kids / adults. Ineer / Sushma - Real passion to do this. Keep it up

Purushwadi is small villageabout 5 hours north east of Mumbai. If you want to experience what life is really like for 70% of India's population, I would highly suggest a visit through Grassroutes. The company not only organizes these wonderful trips, but are incredibly passionate about the work they do in Purushwadi. I will absolutely visit again.

We took a large group (13 people!) from our NGO to the Million Fireflies experience in Purushwadi. Even though a lot of our group were hard core city girls who had never stayed in a tent let alone ploughed a field or ground rice into flour, we all had the best time! It was an amazing setting, the most fantastic... More

Purushwadi, not know to many but this is surely 'The' place to go on a weekend... Have personally been there with my friends for more than a couple of times. This place has the tendency to surprise you every time you come in. Let that be millions of fire flies during the month of June, Lush green landscapes during rains... More
