We went to this hotel to have dinner along with our friends visiting us from the US. They were eager and looking forward to have a luxurious dinner in an atmosphere befitting the royalty. However it was a complete let down from the word go. The entrance road to the hotel is unlit and completely dark. The so called lobby... More

I had read mixed reviews on trip advisor and was in 2 minds before booking a room for one night here. But then bad judgment took over and I went ahead with my booking . Like so many people have reviewed, the rooms are sub standard. I understand the intention to have a rustic feel but there is no justification... More

We wanted to have lunch after our visit to zoo. And since this was pretty close to the zoo, we thought of giving it a try. First you have to pay Rs 100 (per person) to get entry to the hotel, and if you don't have your meals there, you can have a tea/coffee/cold drink for this amount. Otherwise it... More

We spent a month in Mysore with a group of university students. During that time we stayed 2 night at the Lalitha Palace Hotel. The hotel is very authentic. It is a former palace and has amazing architecture, tiles, paintings, stained glass windows high ceilings, balconies, old fashioned elevators and the like. It is true that it is not being... More

Lalitha Mahal Palace is a heritage structure for India and Karnataka. Its our good fortune that we non royals get to spend some time in the premises of this majestic place. We came to Mysore on a Saturday evening and stayed at the Lalitha Mahal for a night. The road to Lalitha Mahal is good and as one drives inside... More

We had a fairy tale wedding at Lalith Mahal. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding, we had the whole place for ourself and we could decorate it in a way we wanted. It has many halls that we could make use, for various ceremonies. We had the mahal in the background for our reception in... More

This erstwhile retreat of the queen of Mysore should be a much sought after place to stay, but it is not. The building and the property is in urgent need of a face lift and proper maintenance. The staff is helpful but it cannot hide the poor maintenance of the property, with paints peeling off, edges of woodwork frayed, and... More

This hotel is lovely. We ended up staying longer over Christmas. Yes it is an old hotel but why stay somewhere where when you go into your hotel you could be in any city in the world. Love the beautiful dining room.

A heritage property is just not enough to justify high rates and poor quality. The property in badly maintained and seems like the stuff is just not trained at all. We got old totally torn towels with holes all over them and one sachete of hair shampoo for two people for two nights stay. Also we got a wake up... More

The rooms are excellent and really very comfortable. The service too is great, the staff quite accommodating and friendly. We initially planned to spend two nights, but ended up spending 4 nights! The food though, I must say, is terrible. The breakfast; well except for the idilies and sambar, is horrible; the bread stale, comes with low grade jams and... More
