We had a wonderful experience spending four days in Mysore. Stephen is very entertaining and a wealth of information while Manjula held down the fort, cooking good food and taking care of us when one of our party fell ill. Great common space, a clean and peaceful feel. We heard great things about Stephen's bike tour, but couldn't go ourselves.... More

This is such a unique bnb in the wider scope of Indian bnbs. You will not find a bnb and guest house like this one. A Yorkshire man and an Karnatakian woman might seem as a bit of an odd pairing of running a bnb, but it works and it was such nice place to stay and have a little... More

A lot has been written about this place and it is hard to write anything original. We stayed for 6 nights and the time flew past. You are made to feel part of the household and no matter how old you are everyone both guests and hosts get on. Manjula cooks all the meals and they are out of this... More

fab review. Well appreciated. Enjoyed the banter. Just goes to prove the North-South (UK) divide can be bridged ;-) thank you for coming over to see us from your base in Goa. It's been a very busy season and no sign of it letting up as yet. As you well know it's a great experience hosting this place... I should... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a brilliant time. Steve provides a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in this excellently decorated accommodation. We received great advice on what to see and where to eat in Mysore, plus Steve organised a day trip to Srirangapatnam for us with one of his trusted and well priced drivers. Rooms are clean and... Some things just don't live up to the hype...thankfully, this place did. It was just as every one of the reviewers have stated; lovely comfy house, quiet lication, great company from Sir Steven and Madam Manjula. And the food, oh don't get me started on that, Manjula is a gifted cook. Stay there, do the cycle or rickshaw tour and... More

Definitely a real homestay: Stephen and Manjula make you feel welcome in the house. You are sharing the house with them and the other guests, which can lead to night-long talks and always results in a fine atmosphere. Rooms are comfy, food is excellent and the people are just so nice.We spent Christmas here and could not have been happier.... More

On our month long trip we stayed here and it was by far the best place we stayed. From the start you just felt like you were walking in to someones house. Manjula and Stephen make you feel so welcome. The food was amazing and it's so lovely to sit up on the rooftop with a book. It was christmas... More

Stephen and Manjula were extremely welcoming and we loved Mysore and our night at the bnb. It's quite small compared to most bnb's that I've been to but this is a good thing. The house really nice and there's tons of great artwork, interesting books and space to commune. Couldn't ask for anything more. The food was great. Thanks guys.

Straight-talking Yorkshireman and diminutive Indian lady make for a winning duo! Manjula keeps everything in order and is a fine Cook. Stephen loves to chat and is a font of knowledge. Don't miss his bike tour to the island which was one of the highlights of our trip to India. The small band of friendly rickshaw drivers is a great... More

My second visit to Stephen and Manjula's place did not disappoint! Lucy (the dog) is fatter, but still as lovable. Stephen's cycle tours are great and getting better. Don't miss either the one to Srirangapatna or the one around Mysore. If you find a better and more welcoming place to saty in India, I'll be surprised.
