I visited Woodville Palace on 13th, April for one night as I had some work in Shimla. Located walking distance from the main commercial hub, the Mall, the place takes you back in time as regards the over all construction, interiors and the various pieces of heritage items the royal family has laid out for the guests to enjoy. I... More

I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is in a nice setting, around 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Both rooms and public areas are cold - they don't have sufficient heating for when the temperature drops. The rooms are a good size but the beds are unsupportive. The bathrooms are poorly designed, so a normal shower caused... More

Shimla is a kind of hill station which is chock a block with tourists all months a year. If you want to explore Shimla then you need to be ready to be part of the maddening crowd and stuck in frstrating traffic jams everywhere. So if you want to experience the Shimla that was the summer capital of the earstwhile... More

I had just one day planned at the property. Already a frequent visitor to shimla and left with this very hotel to explore. The property is at very fine location with no mountain view or so but lush green gardens and trees....just like a palace in british empire. The prices are suited to the rooms but food is quite expensive... More

I visited the Woodville Palace as part of a small group out for lunch. The place has a great 1930s atmosphere with a number of small rooms done out in an appropriate style. The dining area was suitably gloomy and cool and the food was excellent, the usual Indian buffet wiht a choice of mild and spicy offerings.

The charm of Shimla lies in its natural beauty mixed with Victorian era. and to experience the same at the hotel also, Woodville is one of your best bet. located in the posh area of shimla, the building belongs to the erstwhile Maharaja of Jubbal. Just checking in at the hotel gives you that feel like you traveled a bit... More

This is one of the most unusual hotels I have ever stayed in. It's straight out of the 1920s, right down to the bellboys charming uniform. Shimla is cold in the spring and this traditional hotel is drafty, pleasantly spooky and peaceful - we were the only group there when we visited. The food was lovely and the service very... More

It was quite an experience to actually stay in a Palace. We were there for just one night and were satisfied with the service. Amenities were okay, all basics provided except for Wifi which wasn't free. The bathrooms were spacious but would flood when the shower was used... this needs to be fixed. The staff were courteous and one can... More

I stayed at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights. The staff were absolutely amazing in every regard: friendly, well-spoken, helpful and expertly trained. From the moment I arrived, I was taken care of in such a way that I felt like royalty! The rooms are decorated with well-maintained antiques and were very clean, with comfortable beds and good bedding. The... More
