I am writing this review almost one year after staying at Parasol camps at Chandertaal. I had traveled with Blueberry Trails and got a chance to spend a night at the camp site. The camp site is set at a picturesque location near Chandertaal. The accommodation was basic, but cosy and comfortable. Bishan Thakur a.k.a BSNL is a wonderful host.... More

Everytime I think of this trip - I get goosebumps! One of the most beautiful places on earth is the Spiti & Lahual Valley . The serene sky, the "oreo biscuit" mountains are worth dying!! And then there are warm & nice people like Mr Bishen Thakur who go out of their way to make your trip wonderful. Mr Thakur... More

A very steep road near kunzum pass leads to this place. These camps are approc 4 km from Chandrataal lake (out of which 2 km is jeepable). Since camping at the lake is illegal, this is the best place for camping near the lake. Being surrounded by hills the campsite itself is very picturesque. There were two more camps at... More

We traveled as couple and stayed in their property at Kaza as well as in Chandratal. The place is awesome and the same adjective should go to the host Mr. Bishan Thakur also. Who ever has experienced his hospitality can only vouch that I am not saying anything extra here. 2 Days in Kaza and 1 Day in Chandratal accompanied... More

After a tiring ride, we arrived at Parasol camp near Chandratal lake. Due to a misunderstanding in the organisation of our trip, we did not have a booking here. Still, Mr. Bishan Thakur was kind enough to provide his most comfortable tent, tea and biscuits and lots of kindness and friendliness, without even asking us to pre-pay the accomodation! We... More

A long, hard day riding the Lahaul Valley was more than rewarded when I pitched up at the camp run by Mr Bishan Thakur. The perfect hosts, Bishan and his team were helpful, informative and caring. The original and best camp, within easy trekking distance of Chandertal Lake, caters for all budgets but does not compromise on comfort, attention to... More

Past the impossibly narrow Kunzum La Pass just short of Batal, you turn to the 12.5 km jeepable road to Chandratal. As soon as you take this turn it appears that you are now on a road that has fallen off the map. In total wilderness the crescent shaped impossibly beautiful blue green lake leaves you short of words to... More

I stayed at Parasol Camps Chandertaal on my way to Keylong. It was a chance meeting with Bishen Lal on the way there that prompted me to put up at his camp. The camp is located a short walk from the reserve area. What impressed me most was the sense of responsible tourism, that is seen not just in Mr.Bishan... More

We had a stay at the Parasol campsite during our spiti trip. We wanted to be near the chadrataal lake and experience camping in himalayas. This place is perfect for that, the tents were large, clean and cozy. The host, Mr Bishan and his team made our stay very comfortable. They tell you entertaining stories, cook delicious food and add... More

A camp amidst arguably the best location in the Greater Himalayas. Chandratal is a gem of a high altitude glacial lake located a 8 hour drive from the town of Manali or a 5 hour drive from the town of Kaza located int he Spiti valley. Though there are a couple of other camps pitched in the vicinity of the... More
