This place is on the busy road but manages to shut out most of the noise, the rooms were probably great once, but ours was pretty worn and grubby, the staff were very helpful and extremely polite and friendly. The hotel has intermittent wifi, warm water and comfy beds, for this area of Delhi its not bad, but the website... More

The location of the hotel is what made us choose the hotel. We expected a grand place. However it's not worth the price. It's overpriced. The room wasn't worth it. The loo was below average too which was a big turn off. Not going there again.

Stayed at Hotel 55 along with family - though, we were looking for stay at their adjacent hotel, on suggestion/insistence of their staff, took rooms at Hotel 55. The hotel is a budget hotel in heart of city and had no reason to complain. Though it is not luxurious and lacked in-house restaurant, the hotel & rooms were clean with... More

Generally India first impression wasn't what we expected, especially when we got to Paharganj to find a place to sleep. We escaped from there as quickly as we could and got to Connought Place, were searching for reasonably priced place for couple of hourse and finally got to Hotel 55. The hotel, rooms and staff in general are OK. For... More

We have stayed at Hotel 55 on at least a dozen occasions and have never had any cause for complaint. The hotel is a budget hotel, superbly situated in the heart of New Delhi and people who want luxury should go elsewhere. The hotel is clean, the staff are efficient, really helpful and very friendly. They will order taxis, collect... More

Hotels listed in Lonely Planet either try harder to live up to the accolades or get arrogant, Hotel 55 falls into the later. Staff stayed up late talking and snaking outside of our door even after three request for them to be quiet. Rude staff, very little hot water. Rooms are dirty and run down.

My girlfriend and I have been travelling (backpacking around the world) for 7 months and the Hotel 55 was the most expensive and also the worst we have been. We stayed there because a Lonely Planet indication but the room has a dirty aspect, the bathroom is disgusting and the sheets and towels should be around 10 years old. There... More

Don't be put off by the entry. Unfortunately rebuilding of roads, facades etc in Connaught place for the Commonwealth Games made it a bit difficult to negotiate around. The rooms are clean although a little old, bathrooms are fine. It is the staff that make this hotel such a pleasant place to stay. Many of them have been there for... More
